"edit...here's the drive line, big props to Tom Woods they really took care of me on something that very well coulda been my fault"

Lemme guess, you forgot to tell them you've got a shackle-reversal.

Tom runs a great shop. Good guy, great product.

    Thanks....it does doesn't it :)

No Tom and I talked about it but I moved the drive train forward after I'd ordered the unit....AND....I was getting more travel than I thought so we decided on longer travel, they only charged me the difference between the 6" and the 10"....nothing more :stout:

Good deal. I've made the shackle reversal mistake myself. Guess I'm just looking for others who share my pain.

Rig looks really great, Jim. What a difference from the first time you had it out on John Bull!

took it out for a shakedown run......still having some issues.....seems to miss under load, wants to idle high (around1200rpm).....cruises along fine at 50-60mph unless you step on it. I drove it for 20-30 minutes, wonder if the computer needs more time to learn/reset?

thanks for the link Eric.......I think between Sat. and today I've essentially done that process. The engine misses badly under load or above 2500 rpm. I'm gonna call the guy who did my harness tomorrow, if this is a normal part of the process I'll continue to drive it with hope of improvement, if not hopefully he'll guide me in the right direction for diagnosis

    Jim,

It is looking good. I hope you get the missfire worked out in a timely and painless manner, particularly since I suspect that you are hankering to run it over the rubicon free of mechanical grimlins. Good luck.

I wasn't happy w/ the way the YJ seat mounting felt so I decided to re-do them. I wanted to be able to use the toolbox as well. I used a 1"x2" square tube to span the tub then fabbed and welded some supports for the sliders
    [IMG]
I also reversed the hinges on the tool box lid so I could open it from the rear
    [IMG]
I also welded some hinges on the 1"x2" bar so I can attach the drivers seat to it and be able to tilt it forward.......here's a few crappy shots of the drivers bucket installed

I'll get the passenger bucket mounted tomorrow then take it out to put it through it's paces

figure it was time for a update.......I got a axle upgrade :).....30 spline axle kit for the rear D44 ( for the whole story see oct JP mag) but I can say it's Herm's kit w/ a trutrac as well.....here's Christian hard at work

I could never get the motor to run correctly....Christian turned me onto a great shop/mechanic in San Diego. After much time it was determined to be a variety of issues....timing off, bad and dirty injectors, and the wiring harness was not working right ......just a few things ....After a little thought I authorized the shop to convert the 302 over to a Mass Air system....new harness/computer/air meter unit/etc. etc. and a new set of injectors
    [IMG]
runs like a scalded dog now R)!!!!!........waiting on a new brake booster and a oil pressure sending unit and should be back on the road

brown santa showed up several times today :)
I ordered a dual diaphram zinc 7" brake booster, it showed up in chrome (jpflat2a should love it) unfortunatly it's metric threaded studs so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to install. the stud that goes into the MC is too short as well so some fabbing will be necessary. I got a new oil sending unit, and a new VSS as well. My saginaw box was leaking badly so I ordered a rebuild kit. When I opened it up it was worn badly so I used it as a core and bought a Napa rebuilt...........the output that ties to my steeriing shaft doesn't work with the Borgeson joint however so gonna have to take it in tomorrow to find one that works.
Started the afternoon thinking I'd be driving the 6 to work, but NOOOOOOOOO.........it never works that way does it

picked up the hardware and mounted the new booster tonite......the MC flange mount holes were off, needed to drill them out a bit to get it to fit. I need to modify the fork that hooks on the pedal....I'll get that done tomorrow. Little blings all right, isn't it? :)
Have the new saginaw box coming tomorrow, the input shaft was 1/16" to big.....box coming is 4 1/4 turns stop to stop
Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the 6 on the road
