Ok ya'll remember the rats nest of wiring during install....got it all sorted out and loomed
    [IMG]
I also modded the accelerator pedal to accept the cable from the Lincoln
    [IMG]
then it was onto the clutch slave install....had to mod up a bracket for the push style slave
    [IMG]
got it installed then bolted up the slave....may hafta install a heat shield later
    [IMG]
got the solid brake line run down to the frame and the rubber line from there to the slave....just need to bleed it...
gonna get the mufflers put on later this week

Looking good, Jim......................except maybe that slave bracket. There's a lot of force concentrated right there. I could be wrong, but I think it's going to break at the weld eventually. It would be a lot better if you started with a larger piece of angle and didn't have a weld in that spot. But, I could be wrong. Hope I get to see it run the Rubicon this August.

thanks for the heads up John.....think I'll pull it off and put a gusset centered in between the slave mount bolts

Sounds good. I made my bracket out of 1/4" plate and I was amazed at how much flex there was when the clutch was used. I had to gusset mine as well.

been trying to wrap up some of the detail items the last few days....first was a new trans cover. I used the metal from a AC unit and went to work on forming it up
    [IMG]
then fitting it to the floor
    [IMG]
    finally installed and painted
    [IMG]
then onto the install of the new highback buckets....first the support
    [IMG]
    then install of the seats....check out why I own a 6 :)
I mounted the passenger side with hinges, it opens enough that if I reverse the toolbox door I'll have decent access
Still need to bleed the clutch, get exhaust modded, run pump/lines from front tank to rear, and a few more details but I'm finally seeing light at ythe end of the tunnel

thats a great project your doing.the passenger seat was of interest to me as i have run in to the same thing with the seat not folding.mine is a '69,but i bought some later model cj5 seats that do not fold.i can tilt the seat forward and open the tool box part way.the idea about reversing the hinges sounds interesting.i will follow along with your progress.

Well even though I got the 6 running it's not running correctly. I tried to pull codes from the computer and got nothing. After much work and consternation I decided to order a custom harness, it will be pared down to just what I need with a new computer to boot. I should have it the first of June so I;m not driving it until then.
I figured out the noise/vibration I was experiancing was not the OD but rather a bad throw out bearing , get to drop the tranny again :(.
I installed some late model F250 shock mounts to the front of the 6 to add needed travel, and relocated the mounts in the rear to do the same

Gotten alot of little things buttoned up.......hopefully after the first of June we'll be ready to rock n roll

havn't done much to the 6 as we've been moving into new place the last few weeks.
The harness I ordered is supposed to be here next tues. or wed.. I'll begin the install as soon as I get it. I wasn't happy w/ the fit of the seats I installed so I purchased these YJ units to try instead
    [IMG]
Hopefully I'll be able to finish everything up in the next few weeks.....I'm itching to wheel

got the new harness and computer via UPS a few days ago
    [IMG]
pared down and labeled for easy install :)....remember the old one?
got all the old wiring off and it's prepped for the new harness, I plan on cleaning up some details I skipped the first time
    [IMG]
I also dropped the trans/tc so I could replace the throw out bearing (never do a clutch install w/o putting in a new bearing )
Hopefully I'll have it all back together and ready for DD duty in a few days :driving:

doesn't seem that way Sammy, but I suppose your right.
Chose the harder of the two projects first....got the new throw out bearing installed and the trans/tc bolted back up (tranny jacks are the bomb :))
    On to the wiring tomorrow

got some time in the garage tonight...probably 70% finished w/ the wiring. Glued the upper intake gasket on so it'll go on tomorrow, should finish up wiring tomorrow night. This new harness really cleaned up the engine bay.
Can't wait to get this baby back on the road :)

got some time before and after my wife's family reunion and finished up the wiring......runs great! You can see in this pic how much the new harness cleaned up the engine bay
    [IMG]
all the wiring runs along the firewall and minimal on the fenders.
I figured out how I want to fab up my new seat mounts, maybe I'll get a chance to work on it after church tomorrow. I also found my front Tom Woods drive shaft was to long so I sent it in for modding, we decided to go to a 10" travel unit so that should be here monday

worked on getting the YJ drivers seat mounted.....I ended up taking the gas tank out, it just wasn't working w/ the seat slid back. I rubbed the back of my calf raw on the rubicon last year ......here's the bracket
    [IMG]
and the seat mounted in place, it has sliders so pretty versatle and 2" lower than w/ the tank in place
    [IMG]
I forgot to mention that I made a EGR block off plate and got it installed....also the 10" travel Tom Woods driveline came in and got installed.
Looks like my T-stat is stuck open so that'll get replaced tomorrow
Few poser shots outta the garage

Getting very close now :)....Jim S.
edit...here's the drive line, big props to Tom Woods they really took care of me on something that very well coulda been my fault
