The module is on the side of the distributor, held on by two screws (5.5mm or 7/32" head) where the wires plug in to the distributor.

after getting everything corrected I was finally able to get spark, but it still wouldn't fire up because the pump in the tank isn't working:(. I verified that I had 12v and a good ground at the tank but no love. I also learned that the pump was supposed to run via a relay through the computer.......that assembly was in the trunk of the car when it went to the crusher . I bought what I needed at Napa and will wire it in.
I'm thinking at this point my best option is to buy another in tank pump/ drop the tank :cry: and be on my way
    It's never easy

    Nothing worth anything ever is.

Is this pump cooled by the fuel? Do you need to make sure the tank level stays above the fuel pump? My dad has a '94 motorhome, and Ford had a bad batch of fuel pumps that would overheat and go bad if the fuel level wasn't kept above the pump for cooling purposes.

Well it seems I'm still only getting intermittent spark, and I'm having trouble getting the pump relay to work........as much as it pains me I'm paying a guy ( 15 yrs. as a factory Ford mechanic) to come help me out next monday eve. He's a friend of a friend and comes highly recommended.......I'll get the pump installed tomorrow and work on other loose ends until then.....

    Hey Jim,

I have no clue about your motor or its electricals but possibly this applies to your set up as well. I remember I had to test some of the EZ Wiring circuits that was being integrated with the engine/computer wiring...taking notes on which circuits were hot "at all times", "run" or "accessories" and making sure that the electric fuel pump, computer, etc were receiving the proper type of power. For example, one wire that was suppose to power the computer required a power source that was "hot at all times". I didn't check and used a spare circuit that was only hot on "acc/run" and not during cranking. This caused the computer to stop working while cranking. Same story with my fuel pump...the fuel pump required hot "at all times" but If I remember correctly, ez wiring's elec fuel pump circuit was only hot during "run/on"???...and not during cranking?

    anyways, might be worth checking.

this evening the Ford guy showed up to look at the wiring....after about an hour he determined that my power feed was on the wrong side of a loop, back fed the power, turned the key and.....

Does this mean it's not going to puke at the Gatekeeper on the Rubicon trip this year? lol
Looking good, Jim. Congrats on being able to tough out the "impossible" stuff.
