Well, it wouldn’t go in my ‘68, as it’s gonna remain stock. (Except that I may install 11” brakes all around.)

    It’s likely gonna end up in a FrankenJeep intermediate Johnny Cash thing: well, it’s a ‘72, ‘73, ‘74…. A GM 5.3, a GM SM465, D20, D44&D30, etc.
I’d like it to have a D300 transfer case, don’t wanna spend the money to get one.

But does that apply to a 3/4 LS?
Can I put a 2.7 or 3.5 ecoboost in my jeep and be ok?

Commit to doing the Rubicon in July. It’s just about the best time you’ll ever have.

I like where this is going. Heading in the same direction as my B in some respects. You'll get there faster.

It took Summit over a week to get me the gasket set but it finally arrived today. Most of the afternoon putting this together.

Jeff came over this evening and thought it was a good idea to pull the transmission. I was against the idea but gave in. Only the driveshaft and crossmember keeping it in.

The tear down phase is pretty much done. Tonight I cut off the shock mounts and old spring mounts. Have to get a pile of flapper disks tomorrow and clean up the frame. Then start building!! I definitely don’t want it to sit this way for very long. I’ll lose motivation and have to rush this spring to finish.

I’ve made some progress on this project.
Rebuilt the frame front and welded on a little shorter bumper.

Shackle reversal spring mounts are tacked on up front. Had to use a half of a frame piece to get the mounts lower to match the shackle mounts.

Starting to think about fish plates around the shackle mount areas.
