    Welcome to the addiction.

Why else would we continue to spend money on a vehicle that most peoplewould have scrapped long ago.

Yup thats what mine look like too and I feel like I'm hugging the wheel! I'm glad I'm only 5'8"!

I think I'm also going to pick up one of those wiring kits, so I look forward to hearing reviews on it:)

    well
i tried my turn signals but no dice.
    i think i burnt a fuse.
it is so cold outside that i can only handle being out there for so long.
when i am a retired ol fart.
    im gettin a heated garage!
this thing would be done by now...
yesterday i bought a KATS EXTERNAL TYPE ENGINE HEATER 1500 watts.
and i am waiting on that wiring harness which by the way now costs only $77.00.
i dunno how that guy can sell em that cheap.
(but i am glad he does!)

    my engine is running great.

i have been researching rewiring jeeps and found this.
    i think it's funny.
a man named Bob Robinson and his CJ2A
he says it has a wiring diagram that makes a flashlight look like the space shuttle.

looking at the wiring diagram for the harness that is on it's way.
    it is pretty darn straightforward.
god i hope this goes smooth!

i am going to lay out a clean tarp under the jeep and lay out the harness.
then label each wire as to what goes where.
i am afraid to just rip all the old wiring out
but there are 3 different buss bars dangling in the way.
and the whole thing has been rewired at least 3 times.
    nobody removed any previous wires.
so it looks like a bowl of spaghetti.

how would you guys go about it?
rip out old and start over?
or do it one wire at a time?

back to the task at hand.
i want to use some rust encapsulator on my floorboards and then paint them until i can afford to hire a welder to do the work needed.
i will wire wheel them and get them as tidy as possible first.

    brakes are coming along.
    engine heater is here.
wiring harness is on it's way.

i am a professional window washer so i am trading a window job for use of a fully equipped heated mechanics garage for the rest of the work i need to do to get the slug legal and safe.

i am trading a mechanic buddy of mine a yugo mauser for an afternoons work on the slug.
i love it when he comes over because he is very patient with me and explains everything he is doing and makes me do it too.
i could read manuals until my eyes failed and i wouldnt learn as much as i do with this guy in an hour.
in return i am going to teach him how to reload ammo.
now THATS something i DO know about!
i have a dedicated reloading room in my house with 3 presses and all the fixins.
i am set up to load for 17 calibers.
