well it is all wired up .

i hired my buddy for the job.*

    it took him 9 hours.
many of the colors between the harness and the turn signal didnt make sense.
so he had to test everything.

but it is all good to go now.

    * i gave him $50 ,a mauser of mine he had his eye on and a buncha 8mm ammo.

the harness i bought is nice.
even if you paid someone $200 to install .
you would only be out $300 for an entirely new setup you knew you could trust.
    that aint bad at all.

the closest decent boneyard is at least a full days drive round trip from here.
so unless i got a screaming deal on parts it doesn't really do me any good.
once i factor in my time and gas on the off chance the parts some place may have are usable.........

I'm not really concerned with new parts. I was thinking about getting new floor panels, but that's about all I should need. GOtta fab up some sliders for the seats, or at least the driver's. My biggest problem is time at home to work...I haven't even had time to get there and do anything really.

i am deeply concerned with the cost of new vs. the availability and condition of used.

I totally see where you're coming from...but I'm single and not many bills. I made a 'management' decision about getting the new floor, it will be much easier than patching what I have together. I hope it's only the forward floor piece and not both pieces. If so then I can get the floor and tool box...but if it's the whole interior floor, I'll just get the floors and do without the tool box for now.

    like this.
it is only temporary until i get those frame ends repaired.
then i will put some nice big bolts on there.

That was before multi viscosity oils were prevalent, or even available.
What are you running in it now?
FWIW, I agree with Dummy. I'd use either Shell Rotella or Chevron Delo 15w40 in it.
As a matter of fact, right now I'm running Rotella in my :v6:
