It is all machined and assembled ,seems to be working fine with which ever check valve is in the m/c, master is off of a 77 with discs ....I think...

I checked it out, and low and behold ,(if it's right behind the filter housing ) is about a 4" fine thread bolt threaded into the block.that ought...

I had the same problem ,I just assumed they forgot to include the drive shaft angle shims in the measurement for the u-bolts... mine is a 68 with...
