It sounds like you need about 3 more degrees of pinion angle. The happy place is about 1 degree less than the driveshaft, or the pinion pointing just below the driveshaft yolk. Personally I think I would just cut the perches and reweld them. An 8-9 degree shim is getting pretty fat.

This 6 is really looking awesome! Can't wait to see her in action at the Con! I love that about half the Jeeps going are at varying stages of under construction, hahaha.

had a fun time watching my wifes failed attempts in trying to get into the jeep today .she used to use the rear tire for a foothold now that tire is 21" further back . ahhh good times.

    oh and THANKS GUYS !
picked up my new driveshaft it's vey painted ,shiney ,and still has the balancing weights. nice

I now have rear wheel drive.
without tuneing the motor it seems to really like the longer exhaust setup. doesn't sound like a UPS truck anymore . need to throw a windshield on it at drive it at speed to check driveshaft for vibrations .

Yeah yeah. I'd hate for you to think I didn't care. I have some really cool stainless steel headlight adornments I could send you.

Remember those M38A1/M170 frame loops I put on my tub to act as a step for my boys? Kinda looks like an overgrown footman loop.

    HORRAY!
I found tires! Exactly what I wanted .
6 old style 35 goodyear MTRs .super smok'n deal too $600 for all 6 mounted and balanced . SWEET .
spent a few hrs with a flapwheel dressing up my steel rims getting years of rock rash off . have to admit I was pretty proud of all those at metal flakes.
rims got primed and shot black again .along with the cage .

so far the only major mistake I made was not painting the frame before throwing the tub on it ,I had a lot of welding still to do so I let it slide , and now it sucks. pics when everything is back together
    p

once tires are balanced I will drive it again on the hwy to check for vibrations. so far it rides super nice like a truck .Definitely not like my old 5 .there were so many crack in that frame it wheeled like a slinky .
