Motors look nice, good job. I like the clearing aluminum idea but how will the clear hold up to the heat ?

I have some parts still with original color. Mine appears to be darker. Hard to tell with photos

After 200 mi, the clear coat is holding up great. It is high temp engine enamel clear coat.

Been at a stand still looking for a fuel pump camshaft eccentric, finally decided to pay lots for a new one, i had 2 options i found. TA Performance has them made to order, 2 month wait. Cars inc claims they will have one to ship in one week so i ordered it. We'll see. In the mean time i got some glass beads at tractor supply to start cleaning some other parts. Also decided on the buick green from cars.

You are too well organised, everything is supposed to go in one bucket so you get to spend twice as much time putting it back together.

I tore down a V6 then put it back together 10 years later. Fun trying to find all of the parts and know where they went. When I worked in a Jeep shop we may have as many as 3 motors torn apart in the shop. UMMMMMM. My brain was much younger then.

Decided to follow directions and advice and not soak the lifters. Applied assembly grease and slipped them in after cleaning intake area with brake clean.

Was going to use the old push rods but found damage on one
    [IMG]

And of course after a closer look one bad rocker

So i took apart the rockers and checked everything, the shafts were worn. So i ordered new rods, shafts and a new rocker.

Painted some stuff while waiting for the rocker shafts. Tried something new from por-15, DTM (direct to metal) paint. Treated with their metal prep first. Good stuff

Everything on motor without texture gets treated with metal prep which neutralizes rust and etch's the metal

Also cleaned the timing chain cover real good and put in a new rope seal

Well I got one rocker arm back together with the new shaft.

Then realized Buick Farm sent me a RH rocker instead of a LH which I ordered and says so on the receipt grrrrrrrr back to a stand still. I haven't been able to find a LH anywhere else

    New one on right

So I am unable to find the right side so I bought a complete set of used rocker assemblies on ebay to get the one rocker. I got the one side together while I wait.

    New push rods in
    [IMG]

Assembly lube on everything then rocker assembly on torqued to 35lbs
