Remember - you have to have the pump as close to the tanks as possible. I do know a guy who built a surge tank (section of tube, welded ends with fittings on them) engine side of the switch. He feeds the surge tank with low preasure pumps from the tanks (one powered at a time based on the switch) and runs the single high preasure from there.

He is not running a PJIII, but don't know why it wouldn't work for it as he is @ 40PSI with his setup.

Thanks for bailing me out again, Warloch. I hadn't even considered that it might be a metric size on the pump. I'm sure glad you did this conversion first.

Ordered the adapters for the fuel pump. Couldn't find them anywhere except for the link provided by Warloch. http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/fuelpumpsusa/ Actually, I did find them at Earl's Performance http://www.anplumbing.com/ but they had them in two different pitches for the 10mm thread and I didn't know which one was correct. The price at the EBay store was good anyway so they got my order. I also tracked down a source http://www.wholesalemarine.com/ for bulkhead fittings for the underseat tank that will (I hope) let me screw in the rollover vent and return line elbow. Except for a couple of odd and ends, I think I have everything for the fuel system.

Sorry copper204, that rotisserie is in Colorado right now and I don't think Rondog is going to part with it. You missed it by about a month.

Made a little more progress on Posi in the last few days. I installed the fuel pump, two solenoid valves, the lines from the filler to the rear tank, the supply line from the pump to the Powerjection unit and the fuel return line. The solenoid valve mounted to the frame switches between the underseat tank (not in yet) and the rear (aux) tank. The valve that's mounted to the hat channel switches the return line between the two tanks. The two valves are connected by a jumper wire so that they switch in-sync when I switch from one tank to the other. I am taking my underseat tank to Reno to have it boiled out before I put it in. I got carried away and forgot to install the filter, so I'll have to plumb that in tomorrow. I'm working on a little skid plate to protect the bottom of the frame mounted switch. It hangs down about an inch below the frame. It had to be there so that it would be below the bottom of the rear tank. I should be able to finish the wiring this week too.

Retrotek advises against a filter before the pump, but I know Warloch has his before the pump and has no issues. I think Dummy did it that way too. I bought a fuel injection compatible pre-filter from Summit I'm going to use.

Walbro(the fuel pump I used) advises that the filter should be before the pump. They say that crap from the fuel tank can kill a pump real fast.

    Two stage it.

    Gotta agree with the above.

But--------the injectors probably will plug up on stuff that can safely pass through the pump.

I figure to have a filter both before, and after the pump.

The one before the pump is going to take out everything big enough to hurt the pump, and the one after will be to take out stuff that will hurt the injector.

The finer a filter is, the more it costs as a rule. No sense plugging it up with big stuff, let the cheaper "coarse" filter catch that.

Consider how the factory's do things-----in tank filter only has a screen around it, the really fine filter is after the pump, and before the injectors.

Yup - we both did. Make sure it's @100 or larger for it to work right with things. It saved my butt on the first trip as the stronger pump pulled metal shavings out of the tank from when it was built that had not been pulled before with the mechanical pump.

The pre-filter I have is 85 microns. I guess I'll be using the one that came with the Powerjection unit for after the pump. It's kinda big, although I guess I have room for it. Since the underseat tank is so close to the valve, it's going to take some doing to get a filter in there.
