A friend of mine used what i think was a yj front shock mount. It comes out away from the frame.
Ive used stock axles and big tires and never a problem. Ive run 40s with a stock model 20 rear and never broke. i think the right gearing helps...

Your jeep is a 1973 and original paint was fairway green poly! I had a 81 cj7 with 40s and stock axles great in the mud but not for daily driver....
