aallison 74 cj6, 76 cj5. Has anyone seen my screwdriver?

Sammy, I really like those red rims. Way cool.

And I use a hammer to imprent the gasket material then an x-acto to cut out the holes. For a glass bowl, you can use something to mark the material with. Such as a sharpie and while the ink is still wet, press the material on the ink. THen cut.

    sammy Coca-Cola?

That' what I'm thinking... I'll run it for now but in the future you may see a swing away to hold gas cans and the tire fitted. I'd like to remain able to use my tail gate till though, great memories riding on the tail gate of the trucks, and with a swing away you can't leave it open while driving...

    The what voice? R) R)
Did I make it? I sat in it and filled the watter bottle gasoline IV with gas, started it, and let it make vroom vroom! R) monkeys got a racket in the 'hood going from the glass packs

    Thank Doc!

I've seen it been done with lipstick before. No I'll get in trouble, but I'm ditching the mechanical and going Carter electric with a regulator...

That's my thought too. I'm thinking a low profile side tire mount and use a removable spacer block and bolts instead of studs ...
'course, I have to make a tailgate first

You don't have a tailgate to begin with? I need to hold a hi lift, spare, and at least one gas can. I have an ok tailgate with minor cancer and relativly straight, but don't want to bend it. I'll maybe make one out of 1x1" stock.

Oh and I ordered steering linkages from Speedway. It'll go wheel signal column DD U Joint to weld on shaft to weld on U Joint to weld on shaft to weld on coupler/3/4"x30 spline. There will be a heim in there for support. Or I'll get a pillow block.

Not really. M38A1's like MB's (not sure about M38's) have a solid rear panel. I would never hack a tailgate in ... but ... mine was outfitted for the 106mm recoilless rifle and the shells were piled behind the gun but stuck out an inch or 2 so, the panel was hacked. Mine has a 5/16" plate welded in so, it's open game as far as I'm concerned :)

    Bill F Finally running

m38's have tailgates, just they are bolted shut instead of having chains.

I forgot you had an M38A1, thought you had CJ5, sorry! You really want a tail gate instead of the panel? Why not just bolt yer tire and can right to the panel?
    That's right...

Well tonight I punched a pinhole in one of then new brake lines  so, I pulled it out and I'll bend up a new one, Ryan used a full length of tube and it fit perfect, so I'll buy a length and a tubing bender, and fix my idiotic mistake.
I also flexed it out just because I could. 3 wheels on the ground and 1 of them 12" in the air, resting on a jackstand (axle tube) Not bad if I say so myself! Then measured for shocks, gonna get some el cheapo Monroe's. I'll put some pics of it up then as well.

Yeh, I'd like it to be functional as a mini pickup.
Please see my avatar. Tire is mounted to panel, can pan mounted to top of bumper.
Just for fun someday, because I have the holes and mounts already, I'll probably try mounting the tire on the passenger side of the cowl and the can just behind the passenger seat, as it was originally outfitted

I know what you mean by mini pickup, that's why I like mine, and am in a pickle about deciding on spare carrying.
I meant why not just keep yer spare and gas can there, but do see what you mean by mini PU

And a shoutout to Warloch for building a cage for me :D

Thanks Little Jim! I'll tell ya, I'm a senior in highschool and by the time I drive this little beast to school I think I will have the coolest vehicle in school, if I do say so myself. When you get yers take your time and do it careful. Yer dad is full of info too so make sure he does help ya!
Yeah man!!!! Somewhere in there... Before Jeeps there was woodworking. My dad got a free bonus from work, and split it between my brother and I. I had like 300 saved up and this covered the rest. He had a good Craftsman Contractor saw, but, I'd like to have one nice garage shop when I'm older and figgured I'd better get this before they went off shore.
I'm sure these pictures have surfaced and i know Art has seen it, but, here it is again...
