Really impressed watching your photobucket slide show. Now I'm waiting for more. I know many of us really enjoy seeing what is being done and wishing we had that kind of abilities. Many hurah"s.

    R) animal! that's what my wife says....
Yes I'd really like to prep and paint before it goes back together....it's driving me freaking nuts trying to decide on a color. I keep coming back to a pale yellow, but forest green or burgendy or sage or leave it orange.....probabley gonna post a opinion pole:rofl:
    Got lots to do....Jim S.

It's too early to decide but as of now if I was to paint the 1960 CJ5 I picked up a couple weeks ago I'd go with the pale yellow from late 60's Camaros and Chevelles.

I like the bumpers. I should have done something like that, but I went back with factory stuff. That can be an upgrade for later.

Hey - can you post a pic of the backside of what you did? I was just out staring at my front bumper -- trying to decide if I could build in some recovery points or if I'd have to go with a new bumper.

The saggy swap will make it interesting on the d/s.

    Mike....
pics arn't very good, but hope it helps
I cut thru the bumper on the inside side of frame. I used solid metal bar 3/4"x2 1/2"x 9" long.
I welded the bar to the front side of bumper then used a 5/8" grade 8 bolt on the backside.
Using the original bumper on the front w/ the factory rivits in place I figure it'll be plenty strong enough.
On the back bumper I went thru the bumper w/ bar 15" long, welded front and back on bumper, 2 5/8" bolts per side thru the metal bars. I'll weld a tow receiver and tire carrier later.

yep when I cut thru the bumper I had to cut out the front of the horn. My metal bar rests right up against the inside of the frame.

OK... I read thru every post and will admit the majority of what you said is greek to me... but I can see from the pics the progress you've made... I know how excited you are about it too... can't wait to see it done! What did you say you're gonna do with the yellow one? Sell it cheap to lil sis? R)

Hey Don R... if he lived closer he'd be helping me work on my house all the time! LOL... I'm in El Cajon, and my big bro has worked his behind off helping me fix up my 1952 rancher... the cool thing is he not only DOES it, but shows ME how to do it for next time... I've learned how to lay tile, put in patios, do minor electrical (still makes me nervous I admit), put up drywall, put up stucco etc... of course, each project takes me about quadruple the time it takes him... but hey, I still git 'er done! :) In return for his help, I helped him paint the entire interior of his place, helped hard prune the backyard and helped landscape the front yard... the interior design and landscape design things are my forte...

decided to start body/paint prep while I'm waiting for paint supplies to arrive.
Fixing dents/holes and body seams. (John Bull did a number on the body in several areas:)
I got most of the tub prepped, maybe finish on it tomorrow then start on fenders hood, etc next week.
