picked up my Poison Spyder bumper,,,,,,gunna be fun getting that ,the front spring mount and p/s box under it all to jive.

Cut my rear fenders off rear tub and mocked up the dove tail .took about 2" off each side . not radical,,,,, just enough to break up the side and work with my exsisting cage.almost ready to put it all together with sheet metal screws then weld it ll up.pic another time .

picked up my bumper over the weekend , I had my thinking cap on crooked ,because I built my PS box mounts first then when I went to put bumper on things wont fit ,,,I will have to change my box mounts and since the box will sit slightly higher, I will have to cut the bumper a little for the alum ps box cap and adjuster. dang it I hate working backwards .

That's one slick looking bumper. Is than off the shelf item or custom for your application?

that is a posion spyder BFH bumper for a late model cj , so it's not a direct bolt on on ECJ . I had to cut my frame ends on the same angle as the bumper to sink it in farther , it stuck out way to far . then I made a shim to go between the perch and frame to square things back up. I have a EB friend that works at PS ,so I got a buddy deal ,,,,and I found a PS gift cert for $100 on cl that I picked up for $30,SWEET . total cost $150.....Note I would never had paid full price .but for 150 I cant pass that up.

most bumpers sold I see only have the 2 mounting points on the end , Im only kinda cool with that ,thinking 4 is better with a hard pulls on rocks , of course that makes thing much harder to work into the layout, with through bolts and sleaves .
I'm out time to go to work.

well I got frustrated with what going on up front so , last few weekends I've been hitting the back body stuff ,,,,ran out of argon to finish welding on the corners but lights are mounted and dove is fully welded .
I ended up with taking about 2 1/2" out of each side , not AS drastic as I first posted ,since I really wanted to keep my blackout lights .the pic does not really show the angle without the tub mounted to it but you get the idea.

the weather is going to be nice so the 442 is gunna have to stay outside while I join it all together ,,,,,hopefully this weekend .

Looks good, Steve. You still have about 6 months before you have to be at Loon Lake. hehe I'm anxious to see the tub and rear joined, as I'm sure you are too. It's been in the 20's here for over a week so I haven't gone to the garage except to get Ice Melt.

Looks good Steve. I'm envious of your working conditions, with all the concrete in my garage it's colder inside then out. I'm good for about three hours a night when it hits the mid teens and low 20s as its been this week.

so far it has gone smooth , If my 5 tub was straighter it all would fit better /faster , but I have had a ton of fun smashing up the little guy pushing it's bounderies.so far this has not really cost very much but I was given the frame and tub by a really great guy (Dummy ) so..........right now I can't wait for it to be done .this is the worng time of year for my rig to be down.

Geoffrey thanks but NJ is many ,many ,many tanks of gas away .
