They are great when they work properly. Mine is a bottom feeder, sucks when the fitting gets plugged up or starts to leak.

well I was super careful to get a good seal on everything , but it's just a stupid idea to have the feed tube on the bottom where all the junk is ..... since this tank had been sitting it had a lot of partials in it.... flushed it for hrs and it's finally clean-ish .I installed a large see though filter just after the tank that I can check on throughout the run .

I've had leaks twice in the bottom pick up, over the course of 17 years. First time the tread sealant just dried out. The second time the bronze elbow cracked and broke clean off. I can't even count the times the fitting plugged up from crap in the tank, and I always cleaned the tank out thoroughly each time.

well ,Look when I started the thread 7-08-12
took about a year with life /work and jeep money .there are little tings to finish up but most of it is going to work just fine.
I really don't have very much in it . the 6 tires and the custom driveshaft were the most expensive part .I did get the frame and tub for FREE from Dummy though and that was a HUGE HELP >THANKS DUMM's

You built a very capable rig, Steve. And you pulled it off in less than a year. Awesome job! I hope you told Sway what a great job he did on the Rubicon + extra brownie points for Old Sluice.

That wheelbase is very nice, rides well, and seems to plant tires right were you'd want them, and not as tippy as the shorter wheelbase.

So all in all, how happy are you with the change from a 5 to a 6?
