I wish I had only spent $500 on the Bantam I had. Or 2x that. Or 3x that... Looks good!

Looks very nice and fitting behind your JEEP. Would a Renegade stripe be too much?
Regarding the steel top, have you considered using the beam pockets and building extensions to pop up when camping. Sort of a high/low trailer. Have some snap-in canvas inserts sewn up and you wouldn't need to pitch a tent. Might want a layer of insulation under the top, spent a sleepless night in a Suburban under an oak tree once.

How'd that wheel you got from me werk out?

I did have 2 BFG AT's in the 15" rim 30" OD flavor that would have worked for it beautifully ;)

    That's a great looking trailer. I'm jealous. ;) :driving:

(Though I don't really need a trailer with two pickup trucks in my yard.)

What do you have on mind for the spare? I'd think side mount, like a stepside truck, is your best option. It will block one of your rope hooks though. Can't mount it on the front - then you can't tilt the cover forward. How about flat on the tongue?

Tongue isn't long enough to mount it flat. I also mounted the jack too close to the body, so the crank would hit the tire.
I might mount it (a skinny one) underneath the front..

Updates? Well, it's made one trip to the valley to haul my new wood splitter home (50 miles round trip) and two trips to the dump...

That is an awsome trailer. Must be nice living in places were rust is not a killer.

    .

Thanks for the usage report, but I meant something more on the lines of your below quote...;)

So how did it work using it for errands?

    X2!

Thats the same thing I think every time I see a nice old rig/project.

Oh, yeah, I haven't done the tire mount yet, or replace the spring bushings. Firewood season got in the way.;)

    .

I am staying glued to this great thread, and I am curious what you come up with for a spare tire mount.

I am looking for ideas for my '53 M100.

    :stout:

M100 uses the same hubs as a Dana 25... My spare mount on mine will be a spare hub from an old Dana 25 I had, uncluding spindle, bearings, and drive flange (for the soon to be defunct front end of the jeep)

Finally got some 31X10.50's for the trailer. I had to build a hitch extension to clear the spare tire so I could go with less drop on the hitch.. I'm going to have to do some minor fender trimming.. I know, the trailer wiring is less than great there, but I'll take care of it.:)
Now it looks more like an off road trailer.:)
