Well done. That color always looks great on a CJ.

My Jeep with the blue color in addition.
I was looking for a solution to make a better look, avoiding painting all.
So I painted in blue the front and the roll-bar. I don't like the look of the roll-bar, but sometimes it is useful.
I am in a flat country so less risks.

With no roll-bar, I can go under the branches

It is a lot of work, but a very good result. I am not able to do this, just painting the front grill and the roll-bar and I was exhausted!

The PO had it in french army color, (Sahara/desert sand color, Légion Etrangère) but a CJ5 was not used in the french army, except maybe in some special places.
So I had to forget the military look, and the blue touch transformed it, well in my opinion, and with an old paint for metal found in my barn.

    Alan,

I like the contrast as well. I also agree that they look better without the roll bar, especially with the military style tires.

I looked at your pictures a bunch to see why you thought it needed repaint because it looks good to me. Eventually though, I found my eyes drawn more and more towards the white tips on the bumpers; to the point where I realized they were one of the dominant visual cues on your jeep. I don't want to be critical, but sometimes fresh eyes see what more clearly what we overlook every day.

Very very nice Tux and no extra drilled holes in the dash. Looks like that toggle switch is in the same hole for the vacuum hose that fed the original vacuum wipers. Be proud of this Tux, they only made 115 of them in this year. :)

Yes, bought that at a local truck shop. 25$ each light with seal boot and connector. Just a plug and ready mod :)

I don't know why there is white painting on the bumpers, I suppose that was for a military look. I don't really understand what you prefer. Do you say that it would be better with no white tips?

Just my opinion, I do think it would look better without the white tips. Its a good lookin jeep but the white doesnt add anything to the look, it just distracts your eyes away from everything else.

Well, I'll make a test. It would be better with a chrome look. But I am tired. I bought a new welder so I have some work to do.
The old one was too powerful for my electric line! New technology arc welders need less watts.

Your CJ5 is beautiful, can we see your Meyer HT better.
I would like to compare with mine, I cannot see if it is a Meyer or not.
