Your pictures say "jan" 2008? Have you been sitting on it that long, or is the date wrong on your camera?

Honestly dude, get out and drive your rig, and then start with the repairs- they'll come soon enough! Maybe take a look at your radiator hoses, etc, as they look a little old, but...:)

What are your plans for this rig? Do you want a fully restored ride, or are you planning to get some mud on this rig? Only real issue I see is that you could tackle some of the very minor rust that you have. That's it. If you think you have a problem rig, take a look at my photobucket here:

Or any one of these other guys- Lookit what Jayhawk Clint started with:

Don't worry so much about what may happen down the road...I think 100% of these guys will agree...you got you a nice rig, take it out and enjoy it!:beer:

Nice find. Still wrenching on mine. Dive it and figure out what you need to do to make it better. It seems like it will never stop with mine. I just pulled the windshield off and window out and working on getting the dash out.

Maybe I catch you out on the road, I'm in Adel GA.

Yeah. I just picked up some new hoses and some other small stuff last night. Gonna get to work a little this weekend. Dunno what to do about that windshield, might just replace it.

Adel? West side huh? I'm over there around tifton and valdosta for work a lot.

The windshield fogging is because of moisture getting into and changing the flexible plastic-y layer in the safety glass. In MA, the foggy edges are ok as long as it does not obstruct the driver's view - my truck has a little of it at the edges of the windshield.

Looking more closely, it's cracked in the middle. I'd replace it. Replacing the glass won't be very expensive - it's just a flat piece of glass and the shop can cut what you need.

Could be a 232 or a 258. No easy way to tell by looking. It's encoded in the VIN, and also in the build date stamped in the block, below and between the #2 and #3 spark plugs.

Just wanted to say that it does have a parking break, just non functional right now. Gotta mess around with it. The pedal is fully pressed in, but is stuck there. Where to start fixing this?

If you look at the pedal assembly, there's a place where the end of the release cable hooks into under the dash, on the pedal assembly. Try releasing the brake by pulling on that. If the pedal won't release, you can take the whole assembly off the body and remove it from the e-brake cable, and try to free it up with some penetrating oil and elbow grease.

Don't know of any source for the release cable - maybe the aftermarket sellers have them. The assembly is a generic pedal sourced from somewhere by Jeep (GM?) so you should be able to find a cable that can be made to work if you look at other vehicles. I think that Jeep went from the cable release to the lever release in '76 or '77, so you might be able to make the pedal assembly from a later Jeep work for this application.
