No rust stock, sounds like a dream come true. Something puzzles me, unless you are the used jeep business, and it dosent sound like you are, why are you concerned with worth or value?

How about for your original issue black out lights? (never seen any my self. Always thought they just covered up the lights just leaving a 1" or 2" square.)R):hurrican::flag:

Well, Wilson, because I am curious as to the value, I own and have owned several vehicles, trucks, and am familair with the years and options on them and the general worth, so when I insure them I can place an accurate value to them, I have never owned a Jeep, much less and older clean one, and the more I look into it, the more I would like to know.

In addition to what pickupman said some insurance companies allow you to do a 'stated value' policy. If I insure my 2A as a modified through Haggerty they asked that I do a 'stated value' policy and the value had to be at minimum $5,000. I will do Haggerty once it is done... I would feel I cheated them if something happened with it the way it is R)

Huh...last time I checked Haggerty they wouldn't insure a modified vehicle - or one that gets used off road.

    Have they changed their stance?

Nope, they haven't, I checked with them and since I did take it this weekend, (and had an awesome time, took Willy up a nice rutted old loggin trail in low) I will have to use my standard Mercury to cover him. Is it really an issue as to why? jeez

I don't know they were going to cover my 2A without issue under a stated value policy for modified vehicles. looked at it in the spring, for $5000 value it was ~$330/year :?

It wouldn't be covered at the dunes or scramble areas, but the only 'legal' trails in Michigan are 'unimproved roads' that a 'conventional 2wd vehicle can traverse' so technically, so you are never really 'off road' in this State anyway.

State Farm covered mine under a "classic car" policy for stated-value, full coverage including mucho liability for >$200/yr, w/ no restrictions on use that I was made aware of.

I've got the Sixty insured through Progressive. Not sure what the rate is right at the moment. It's changed since I moved. Lower. Most of the others wouldn't touch it, including whoever it is that AARP uses. My question was "What the heck good are you, then?" and I hung up. I like the older vehicles, they are easier to work on. You open up the hood and there's an ENGINE in there, not a bunch of cables and wires and hoses like the new stuff has.
But it is a real Bear to insure them sometimes.R):hurrican::flag:

I know when I asked Haggerty about "fire roads" or gravel roads, he was very quick to state that unless there was "no other route" but they do not encourage it. And I asked about mild 4 wheeling, whoa,,,, well that is not the intent of our coverage,, blah, blah blah,,,, so I called my mercury ins. guy, give him a stated value with pictures,,, I think it is about 179 yr.
Apparently haggerty only wants you to look at your nice classic vehicle,
And yes I REALLY like being able to open the hodd and IDENTIFY everything there!!!

Yeah, that sounds about right. I don't use mine on road, but I usually calculate the time spent running.. With the 5.38 gears, you won't see fantastic fuel mileage.
