Chrome 12V coil R)R)R)R) Had some trouble with cold starting (below 10* or so) and wanting to load up in the cold. I put this on as I had it anyway and it runs 100X better in the cold.

Here is an ammo box radio I built. I need to rewire the power lead to a toggle switch though. It is getting annoying opening the lid to turn off the radio. Adam modified my old YJ tire carrier into a 4" riser so it can be an arm rest too. Industrial velcro holds it to the riser, and there is a QD in the power lead so I can have it out in under 5 seconds. Velcro on the latch is where I put my MP3 player for fingertip controls.

Who makes those headers? I tried to read the tag in one of the photos but couldn't. I am looking for some because mine are rotted out. I have the same v6 in my CJ2a.

Does anybody know who makes those headers, or headers for a Buick v6 into a CJ2A?

Sorry I must have missed your reply the first time, I think they are Hedman. I will have to check the tag, but I am in Chicago for the weekend.

Means I will finally have real glass in my windshield and the venting property restored :woot:

Now to find the time to do it :(

Some more wheeling pics thanks to RenegadeII :thumb:

Casualty: 1 Marker light, and I pushed in the passenger side top rail of the tub a bit- again. I need to silicone the other into place. Also, If I ever plan to drive it 200+ miles in a weekend and do 5 hours of wheeling on top of that, a seat back cushion may be desirable. While I find the steel back very comfortable, it left a helluva bruise on my back from the wheeling.

I also realized I am going to HAVE to get different wheels for the wheeling tires. I cannot lower my pressure enough on these to get a good footprint when I need to. These rims were intended for tubes so there is no safety bead. When I air down I start loosing all the air over a period of time. There were some obstacles I think I could have got over either with a locker or airing down.

Supposed to pick up my D30 this weekend.... TURNING RADIUS YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!

Thanks for the compliment, I am still a bit irritated, the original glass would NOT even close to fit into the aftermarket windshield frame.

I have been pretty sick for a couple weeks and have not had time to do the D30 swap. Adam came over today to help me throw it under and hopefully prep for the winch that should be arriving Tuesday (and hopefully can find time to mount it for Snowblind)

Got most of it done today, but had to order brake lines and bead glue. Also need to locate a longer (not drop) pitman arm to make use of my new found turning radius.

The width is a nice match with the 2" wheel spacers on the rear. It puts the tires out just enough to protect the body.

We have to break down all my tires and transfer 3 of them to wheels that have safety beads and use bead glue on them. The 4th needs just broken down and bead glue put on, then I need to calibrate my tire deflators and put together spare parts and a tool kit to take.

Tomorrow my brake lines should be in, and we can install the new lines and bleed the system.

While underneath today Adam discovered my rear u-joint is toast, and we have to make up a new front shaft because the D30 uses a large u-joint compared to the flatties original one.

I hate last minute wrenching for a wheeling trip. Even more so when we are not positive how we are getting it there :sonicjay:

Oh yeah.... I forgot to add, one of these should be showing up next week sometime... 8k should be overkill, and well, it won't get used a lot. I hear a lot of pretty decent reviews as it should be a second gen that I receive and will be a rebadged t-maxx

    More from today...

If they are that expensive and prone to going bad, I will try to figure out a more reliable way.

Some more pics from today... Adam convinced me to check the wheelbearings and I am kind of glad I did now, the drivers side wheel seal was shot, so tomorrow some new seals should be arriving, and I am going to replace that bearing just for peace of mind.

All that is left for now:

Replace rear u-joint (1/8" of play)
Finish installing new brake lines and bleed
install new wheel seals, grease whel bearings, and re-assemble.

Install winch and winchplate maybe.... if the winch arrives.

I should be able to air down sufficiently now. Got some different wheels from Adam and he switched the tires to them for me. These have a safety bead and I also used bead glue to help eliminate leaks when aired down. The slightly wider rims really changed the look of it (other then the rusty white paint)

Do the ramp or forklift flex test before you hit the trail; mangled my rear quarter with wide tires sticking out beyond the fender like that.

They do look good, though!
