Perfection is the enemy of the good!

Looks really good the way it is John. Looks good against the red fenders and firewall.

My thoughts exactly, but, I was looking to paint the 383 Chevy Hurricane gold or is that the correct color for the old 134?

Por15 has 2 Buick colors in green and turquoise. Which one would be closest for the 225?

I think the turquoise is the closest match.

Buick torquoise blue. POR sells an engine painting kit that includes degreaser, metal prep, por-15 in silver, and the engine paint, as well as brushes, gloves and mask for $45.00. I just bought it and a can of their hi temp exhaust paint in factory manifold gray. They and TA performance were the only ones that had the original buick engine colors. From the response I got here about the kit from POR I decided to go that way. Ordered on a Thursday, arrived on Saturday. Need another dry day to finish blasting the engine and exhaust manifolds and it'll get done. Pics then. Here's the link:http://www.prp-porstore.com/page/por15/PROD/Kits/EPK

Wow that's pretty slick! Why did you go with the gray instead of black for the exhaust? I'm guessing your painting the exhaust manifold grey? Was it grey from the factory?

Yep. Not a lick of paint on the manifolds. I'm told the factory manifold gray goes on a little lighter than a true cast color but as soon as it goes through a heat cycle it finishes curing and looks exactly like new cast iron. Was also told it'll last 2-3 years w/o touchup, longer with.:v6:
