Hub Puller?

If someone still needs a hub puller, just found the heavy duty hub puller cheaper than sjdiscount site,

Does anybody have any opinions on the JC Whitney hub puller on this thread? Ima needin' to buy me a hub puller. Gonna check the pawn shops, but was wondering' about the JCW puller for $56. Thanks!

Yep. Gots me a big ol' antique electric mutha, but I'm not so sure that it's as powerful as a Harbor Freight cheapie. I'd like to buy a puller if I can find a good used one. Anybody have one they might sell? I'd still like some opinions on the JCW puller. Doesn't Sparky have one?

 

I have used the JCW puller from Sparky. It works fine (if your hubs aren't ridiculously stuck). The threads are pretty coarse, making it want to do more work than it should with each turn.

I just have a decent memory at times I knew exactly what I was searching for on ebay. Although that particular tool isn't the "OTC" brand, it looks identical for 1/2 to 1/3 of the price. Let us know how it looks/works, I might buy one

 

Welp, the puller arrived yesterday, and I'm quite impressed!!! It looks identical to that OTC model, and it's very beefy and heavy. The screw part is fine thread, and looks to be 1", or real close to it.

I hooked it up to one of my hubs this morning before coming to work, took some beating and impacting, but the hub finally popped off like it's supposed to. Been on there 51 years, after all.

All in all, I'd heartily recommend it to anyone that needs one, and you'll never find them anywhere else for that price!! Glad I pulled the trigger on this one!

Looks just like this...it could be the same one. It was $47.99 + 9.95 S&H, total $57.94. He received my money order on Friday, 5/11, and I received the puller on Monday, 5/14, via USPS Priority Mail flat rate box.

 

Good to hear. With my luck, when i finally getting around to buying one of my own (rather than replacing Sparky's that I broke) these won't be on ebay any longer.

 

I got the impression that this guy is an individual that's making his living buying tools wholesale and then selling them on Ebay. Everything he lists has a Buy It Now price.
