Who gets what for MPG

Some before the teardown and some during. Hopefully I will be able to post some after photos here soon. I was also wondering what setup I sould look into that would perform well as a daily driver as well as off road. I currently have the stock trans and d20 tcase as well as dana 30front and 44rear with 3.73 gears. hopefully there is a good setup that will work with gas a a daily driver too.

my 72.

9 MPG with 258, HEI, Fuel Injection, 35" MTRs and 4.56 gears. It is driven primarily off-road so that seriously effects the milage.

On the road I probabaly get 13~14 but with my low gearing it means I am turning 3K RPM at just over 60 MPH.

 

With a stock 258 with the 1bbl Carter and hedman hedders, 4.27 gearing and 31's I average 20 around town and just under 18 on the freeway (just revving to dang high and aerodynamics are pretty unforgiving). The best I've ever gotten was 24, man I was all excited but I was only able to do it once. Well, actually I take that back... when I took it to Sand Lake I got an infinite mpg going there and back, of course the truck I towed it with was getting about 13 so... R)
