Rust Repairs Underway

    The works looks great!

    Did you put anything between the metal runners (not sure of name)raised on the tub and the replacement sheet metal?

    I know when I took the tub off my 2a, wood shims were added as structural supports between the tub inside the runners. I would like to find a plastic replacement, if possible, as the wood seems like it would rot.

    Actually, I learned that the wood is oak, and that it causes the rust that we find in these old beauty's. I didn't add anything in between other than a healthy coat of paint that seems to have sealed it pretty well. I plan to shoot it with 3m rubberized undercoating for more protection, but I live in the desert so it's not a high priority for me at this time. It's been a lot of fun driving around town on nice days recently...everybody waves...

    But then there's my 14 YO daughter who I actually bought this for...she wants to know where the 12" subwoofer will go R) She gets the Jeep thing, but I still have a ways to go with her :)
