Saweet. very nice rig. If you don't mind me asking, what do you have for a lift and tires. I'm agonizing over a lift for my 3a, and yours sits about where I want to end up with mine.

Looks good Larry. Can you give me a guess as to how many hours you have in the tub repairs so far?

It has a 2" Rancho lift, and those are 31" Swampers. Seems to be a pretty good setup.

It took about 4 hours to gut the interior and get the tub off as I recall. The actual repairs I have about 10 hours into. But, I spend a lot of time staring at it trying to figure out what I want to do. I haven't done this before, so I'm taking it kinda slow. :)

What guage are you using typically? This is probably going to be my approach to fixing my tub untill I can buy something "store bought".
Everything from the fire wall back is pretty much mush.

I'm using 18 gauge for the floors, and 1"x2" .083 wall for the hat channels.

Is the 1" x 2" .083 store bought or did you have it fabbed in a shop?

OK, I'm studying your pic pretty hard. Can you tell me how much a sheet of 18 gauge cost ya, and is 16 guage just over-doing it?

Well, I chose 18 gauge since thats what repro parts seemed to be made out of, and it ended up being the same as what I'm replacing. I got it and 20' of the 1x2 for $86.

I had to register. That looks great. I hope my welds look that nice. What welding equipment do you use. I had somebody weld up some cracks in my hood and now it will be used as a sled. I have a Lincoln 135 that I havent figured out yet and was wondering if I will be able to use it for the rest of welding I need to do.

Thanks...I have a MillerMatic 175, with gas. For this project I used .024 wire. I'm certainly no expert, but this project came out better than I had hoped. Time will tell if I did it right R)
