So on a path to figuring this out. Uploaded photos and found block ID which indicates 1977 231. The ID on the heads are from the replacement. Trying to locate ID from originals. They were sent out to Spokane WA where they were promptly lost ... and had a heck of time getting the set replaced. Distributor was added by the local mechanic and guessing went off 225 Odd Fire that was provided by me during sale from original owner. I included the stamp 1254083 V6 Even Fire, Straight Rod Pin Crank, Odd fire Engine w/Integrated Dist Drive. Soooo, any more feedback or insight is greatly appreciated. This poor thing has been down for a long bit and I have to order and ship or mule it down here. Any help is greatly appreciated for Cam and Sleeve in photos as well as proper Distributor and anything else at this point... Thanks to everyone to date. CM

The block shows as a 1977. It would still be good to verify with a picture of the crankshaft to see for sure if it is an even-fire versus odd-fire as that was a transition year.
It looks like you are missing the rocker stands on those heads. B-1257051 was the number for your old cylinder heads you posted previously. Once you determine for sure
what engine you have, then you will know what distributor and camshaft will work.

To a certain extent odd/ even fire 231 blocks and heads are interchangeable. The first years of even fire heads present no issues bolting to the 231 odd fire (low port years to late 78 sometime) I agree confirm via crank visual.

Thank you for the information. I am asking for photos of the crankshift from the mechanics and will update accordingly. The boys actually had it running but one of the lobes on the cam was worn, hence, here we are. I appreciate all the help to date. I believe the rocker stands were rectified when they sent back the heads as they were inaccurate the first time since they were lost.... Gracias, Christian

Hi. Can you expand on the 75-77 oddfire can and where to purchase it? Looks like everything is pointing to a 1977 231 Odd Fire. Concern about the heads being even fire and will try a matching distributor and cam for this year as best guess. What a cluster. Way harder as I'm in Mexico for sure. Thanks, CM

Mechanics cannot get photos of the crankshaft. Considering this it looks like best option is to get a 77 231 Odd Fire cam, and matching distributor. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I would not spend the money on a guess. Have them pull the oil pan and get a picture.

I know, it's single pattern. I run it, very smooth and broad. I tried to get Lunati to grind a dual pattern but there was a blank shortage at the time.
