I ran a set of 700X15's recaps on a 66 Scout I had in HS. They were running a tread pattern very close to the XT Commando or Interco groundhawg and worked very well in the mud and (occasional) snow of Southern Oregon. Dug through the upper 3 or 4 inches of mud and grabbed a bite underneath. It was slow going but never got stuck.
X2 on the roof removal. I had a Meyers metal top for may years and removing it was like dropping your ruck on a hiking trip.

There was definitely a Bondo sculptor in the Jeeps past. Good luck for getting it going on Sunday!

    BACK AND RUNNING!

clutch works great. Everything’s tight and smooth and the overdrive make things great. Stoked. Next is to rebuild the carb.

went for a bit of a trip today 50 or so miles. Went to summit and got a shift boot. Then took the long way to A&W. Stopped off at my buddy Doug “the model A hot rod god”. Then back home nice a safe, just in time to notice a coolant leak. Water pumps failing. So now that’s next on the list. 9F4B1B82-9AE0-4674-9273-769DF2C87326.jpeg
steering wheel looks bent with that wide angle lens haha. BAC1C83A-2452-4A65-A952-F887260F97B4.jpeg had to throw on the new license plate topper too.

also anyone know how I can take those stickers off the chrome without totally wrecking the chrome?

Hey, I saw you on the road today. You were headed north on Veterans Parkway.
I wondered if it was your Jeep, how many red early CJ5's with a hard top can there be in town?

I got home and checked this thread but the older photos had red fenders, instead of the dark colored one on the drivers side.

It's good to see it out on the road.

I use a Heat gun and Mineral Spirits heat gun make them soft use a plastic scrapper and mineral spirits dissolves the glue. Works for me, Good Luck

You could try a more aggressive solvent. I have carb (throttle body) cleaner on hand, and brake cleaner. Neither of those will harm the chrome, and likely can dissolve the stickers. You could try lacquer thinner, xylene, acetone, or Goof-Off too. The heat gun will help to release the glue from the buumper, but I suspect you won't need it with a stronger solvent.

Be sure to remove your flying corn cob before you start!

Good to see you back on the road again. Paint stripper will make quick work of those military base stickers, just don't let it stay on there too long, and rinse well with water after. Usually, the chrome is nicer under the stickers from being protected for years by them.
