Unfortunately, the MKlll Tuxes didn’t have any separate serial numbers to separate them from other CJ5’s. Color and special trim are the only ways to document them.

I’m expecting the blue is a light, almost “Carolina Blue” shade? This would be Sierra Blue, paint code 222. Paint stripped may reveal decent chrome, protected by your green paint.

    Yes Sierra blue.
Somewhat similar to Corvette Nassau blue.

Yep, has all the Tuxedo Park goodies except tag light on the tailgate and steering wheel. (but still has the bracket holes). Chrome hinges, windshield latch, front bumper, tie downs, etc...

This one will clean up nicely IMHO. It’s better than a lot I have seen. Get rid of the rhino liner, those hideous bumpers would be first on my list. For Tux owners, those chrome bumpers are now being reproduced (Jeepster Man)
The harder part will be finding the drop down rear license plate holder.
Interesting what the previous owner did with the hood footman loop though! Relocated the tall front one back??? Very odd! And missing the short (I see no holes, so they were filled in when repainted)

Am I the only one seeing a Warn Overdrive and a PTO that has both Front and Rear Output?

Bought mine very recently. It's a '67 CJ5A with a Dauntless 225, 3 on the floor, overdrive, 2-stick transfer case, and the front/rear PTO. It used to have a hardtop and doors but when the previous owner acquired it they were too far gone to be saved. It has a '74 Warn 8274 on the front that needs work. The winch does drive out, just not back in. With the exception of the reverse lights, everything works as it should. It's quite a fun vehicle with the 3 on the floor, and can keep up on the highways with the overdrive, although going 65mph does increase my chances of spontaneous liquification as I learn why modern cars have disk brakes...

Update: The serial is 16246, which (I think) puts it as a Feb. 1966 build date. I'll be trying to identify the whole drivetrain soon, but it seems from online research and calculations to have a T86 and 4.88 gears in the axles.

I have a Mark IV Tuxedo Park which is in original condition (repainted years ago in original white color). Will post more photos once it is out of the garage for this season.

63 Tux in chattanooga, all original minus the white top, 44,000 miles, one spot of rust fixed. Chrome starting to look shabby, and original vinyl seats finally falling apart. They are two toned black and indian ceramic vinyl and i cant find the vinyl anywhere. All my pics say they are too big to load. Cant tell if winch was factory or after, and we cut the tow mount off this year. This is a video of it from 15 years ago before it got repainted

That looks like a very original MKlll Tux. The winch could have been a dealer option. Tuxes never came with a roll bar. The rear license bracket/light is hinged, and was originally mounted on the center of the tailgate. Its fairly rare to still find these intact. Your chrome speedo rim and chrome side steps are correct for a MKlll. The outside mirror is supposed to be an a long arm and have 5” round head, both chrome. Very nice!

Thank you, I am very proud of her. I need to replace the mirrors. Does anyone know where to get a decent white top? I am glad the pink shifter knob is still with it as well as pink steering wheel. Is anyone around me in Chattanooga with one?

Unfortunately, white soft tops haven’t been available for more than 25(?) years. I guess there aren’t enough of us “early CJ” folks to make a small batch of new tops in white, or other vintage colors. My Tux originally had a red soft top, and have another that had a light blue top.

Interesting info on the first Tuxes. For ‘61, they were white with a white windshield frame. Red pleated seats, with a black top and matching spare tire cover. Those look like the early Cutlass hubcaps, but to photo is pretty grainy. The front bumper looks to be flat, no arc like the later Tuxes. I can’t tell if it was painted or chrome.

Found my 65 Tux in a fence row two years ago. It had been off the road since 1985. Remarkably "original" & complete, even had the original "Jeep" ignition keys along with Kelly hardtop keys. CJ 5A M Tag was hanging by a wire tie on the backside of the 134 Hurricane engine. I have tons of photos, can't figure out your website / process for uploading?
