I picked up a 65 tuxedo park shift on colum hard top and doors and factory winch. I am trying to figure out how to post pictures. With the exception of missing the bumpers they removed the front one to put on a tow bar and the rear to have s trailer hitch, the brackets are still on the rear. It is almost completely unmolested.

Nice find. Looks like it's still got most of the Tuxedo Park bits on it.

    Way cool!
I’m from your area. Did you find it locally?

    Yes,
It was actually owned by a good friend that passed away, the family wanted me to have it.
If I can find an engine, it could be a good runner fairly quickly

Nice find! We need a serial number. Not visible in your photos, is it a column shift?

the hub caps are cool, near as I can tell this jeep is original and um molested
Other than the missing long block 4 cylinder,
    I believe I have found a replacement

236 units earlier than mine! The correct F134 should have the spin-on bypass oil filter rather than the canister type found on pre-‘64 engines. Otherwise, just about any F134 will work for you. You should have a single lever transfer case too.

All the accessory engine parts were in a box with the jeep, that included a remote spin on filter adapter, plus the flywheel carb, mounts distributor etc,
The only things missing are the long block and the radiator. My plan is to do a major brake job, (upgrade to dual master cylinder?) new tires and install a running engine

I bought a 65 off of a friend a couple of years ago. He gave me the title and I never compared it to the firewall tag until recently. The firewall tag vin is 8305 A221064. The title vin is 832213644. Looks like my title is a Tuxedo Park and my Jeep is not?

Wow, that could present a problem if pulled over! Have you talked to your friend about your discovery? Did the Jeep have the Tuxedo Park parts on it? Either way, if it’s not a Tux, you need to get a correct title.

No Tuxedo parts associated with the Jeep. It was an old deer lease Jeep, pretty much gone but I had to rescue it. I'm in the process of getting the title work corrected.

I think I came to the right place. Today my wife and I purchased a CJ5 Tuxedo Park Mark IV. Originally spent it's life on the South Dakota farm, it spent it's last three years in a garage in MN as a failed father / son project. The drivetrain is original and fully functional! There is one small rust hole through the driver front fender and two body mounts are bad but the floors are solid and most of the Tuxedo accessories are there (less the hubcaps and bumpers. Is the ashtray an option?) I'm wondering if anyone here can help me with an approximate build date. The Jeep is titled as a 1965 but I believe it's a 1964 model. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, the plan is to carefully remove the black paint and preserve the original blue underneath and keep this a true survivor. Not a bad find for $2,000. [IMG]
