    Hardly a Torque tube in the true since of the word?.....................Maybe related.............if the motor was running in the opposite direction....

    I would agree - but that is what one of the old manuals called it published in the late 50s. I think it has more to do with your pushing rods around a central point... I got nothing else as I always called it a Bell Crank and I don't even use them any longer with swinging pedals on all the rigs :D

    I agree, it's symantics...a time period or regional dialect thing. Kind of like "bucket" as opposed to "pail" or "eves-trough" vs. "gutters".
    I have heard it referred to as bell crank or torque tube depending on the individual who is referencing the subject.

    Yep, sure is. I like using the British terms just to throw people off a little. "Pop the bonnet and we'll have a look see to check for petrol.":D
