    I will tomorrow morning when I won't wreck the top edge and side with my tyveks. The epoxy has a 3 day window, I will be well within the specs. Its also below 60 so its kicking off pretty slow.
    I primed and painted the bottom, inside wheel wells and firewall a while back. It all got epoxy and some leftover Nason topcoat I had from the last paint job. There is overspray that i will cover with the new topcoat. It might not be a perfect match to the old stuff.

    looks good to me. I'm hoping for a good '5 ft' job out of my skills when it comes time ... if it's better than that, bonus.

    Painted the whole tub inside and out today. This paint is a more yellow orange than the previous orange. Very bright. You will be be to see it from the Moon. Looks as good as my body work allows. Got some runs inside the tub and none on the outside save the rear panel. That part is a masterpiece. Giant curtain dripping the whole width from stoplight to stoplight. Its truly amazing. I pulled off the huge run blobs with tape, but there was no real fixing it without a D/A and a repaint if I can't live with it. No pics as i had to run to catch a plane to Indianapolis.

    When i get back I will roll it out in the sun to see how good or bad it really is. Mixed with reducer and hardener I used a full gallon of paint. That is only the tub.

    Well...I am finally back home. I looked out back and could see the orange glow through the plastic in the palace. In my mind all I can think of when I envision the paint is combination of pink fuzz mixed with runs tha have hardened onto the floor and bashed up bodywork that looks like it fell off a cliff. With some significant trepidation I peeled back the plastic, unmasked it and rolled it out into the daylight.

    you can't really see in the pic, but this panel looks like niagra falls and I will probably need to fix it.The blending of the willys and the panel is also less than satisfactory, but I will live with that i think.

    The wheel wells and inside the back panel have some runs. I don't care much since they will be behind the seats.

    No dry fuzz anywhere. No runs or sags on any panel outside but the rear. The paint looks pretty good for a part and tool painter, me. Really bright. Really shiny. Really nice to touch. so smooth. I am much happier than I though I would be.

    Now hood, grill and fenders.

    update on the paint..:mad::mad::mad::mad:
    In bright light its fine, looks as good as the bodywork will allow.

    Then, under clouds you can see IT. holidaze all over. Looks like tigerstripe. I went around that thing at least 5 times cross hatching and fully wetting down every panel. The body work is what it is, POS, but the holidaze will never make me think if this more than a :poo: paint job. I can even deal with the niagra falls runs.. but there is literally nothing I can do to make the holidaze go away. It could be the paint, my equipment or me...:mad::mad:

    Heh, I've got a buddy that makes his living doing fairly pricey Shoebox Chevy builds for folks (Corvette Suspension, LS Swaps, stuff like that, builds his own frames), and he does all the prep work himself, and has Maaco do the actual painting.... Says it's just not cost effective for him to break out his own painting gear anymore.

    Could be the atmospheric conditions at the time Chris. Humid conditions will make paint haze. Don't be too hard on yourself. You are not working in ideal conditions for painting, as you are already aware.

    Thank you Dave. The holidaze is because I have not applied enough paint over a red colored sealer. The haze or blushing is definitely because of high humidity. I got that in the bed but no where else. I am much less concerned with the bed than the outside and honestly I don't think anyone will really notice unless they look real hard. I hope to scratch it up an get real dirty with some trail rides as soon as I can anyway so whats the big deal right?

    I am going to go out today and buy some reddish 2K sealer to spray over the epoxy once I get done stripping the new to me hood and passenger fender. The holidaze is really only noticeable where the tub necks down for the fenders. Cowl and the rest look as good as my body work will allow.

    I am always pushing for professional quality work out of my jack of all trades self with the tools and space I have available. When it doesn't happen perfectly its disappointing, but I am not a professional painter, machinist, welder, transmission rebuilder or mechanic. I do the best I can and sometimes its great and others not so much. I hope I inspire others to stretch their perceived abilities. Always learning, always striving for improvement.

    Thanks for all the help and support guys.
