I had the stock wheel on my first 2a. I needed it for the leverage to turn the manual ross box ! I guess I will mock up the seats, and see how it work out. I think I threw out the tube. I kept the original steering wheel though. It wouldn't be hard to buy another one or just fabricate a new one.

started the transmission cover. I want to make it simple and something that can be changed easily. The sides will be welded in, but the top will be bolted and replaceable. Its simple and will probably be ugly.

All it has to do is keep the noise, heat and fumes out. As somebody on another forum stated, "I would give you a Jeep wave but I'm too busy trying to steer this thing."

In the 3B, I just bolted a couple of 3" PVC end caps to the seat frame. Sometime I will get out there and cut in some slots so the handle of a coffee cup will fit in them. I did go over to the local farm and ranch store with a insulated can holder to find the right size end cap.

I was wondering how you were making out in the blizzard! We got a whopping 3" up north. How did the city road crew handle the cleanup?

I tacked in the rest of the transmission cover. The top is going to get made last. i don't really like welding sheet metal even if it is as thick as this stuff. Its entirely my fault and i bought a 10 pack of USA made flap disks in preparation.

I had a job cancel on me for tomorrow, so I will hoist off the tub and start fabbing my exhaust, well thats the plan anyway.

Tub is off again. I bolted up the Y pipe that isn't going to work just to look at the angles for the exhaust and the Novak Hydraulic clutch slave and mount. Well the bracket didn't fit right. I bought it from a member here, brand new still in the package, at a pretty good deal, so I can't complain. The bracket would not clear some webbing on my particular bell housing and the boss for the engine dowels protrudes past where the bosses for the through bolts protude from the housing. The Bell is aluminum and the bracket is steel so I decided to machine the bracket.

That process is for the dowel boss and to the left I have machines out a recess for the webbing.
    fits fine now.

The slave is very close to where the exhaust will need to go. I don't like it.

that slave looks like its at a funny angle, looks like you have a different bellhousing than the boys 70. be sure to check the angle of the push rod.keep up the good work.

Thanks. The slave is straight and not in any weird angle, its just my phone camera that sometimes does funny stuff. I bought that bell housing off ebay several years ago. I was told it came from a dauntless and it did have an adapter on the back of it, so it probably was. I don't know why the Novak bracket didn't fit this bell housing. It does now.

Anyway, I will do my best to route the exhaust away from the slave. Do I make a heat shield? Anyone else doing this setup?

A heat shield would be a good idea as we managed to melt a brake line after I installed the V6 in the MB. At least we had several acres to get it under control.

Maybe go to a front dump exhaust? Or will that be in the way of your steering set up.

I have a front dump manifold. I am not running a ross gear. I looked at AA and Novak headers. Expensive and maybe worth it. There is no problem on the passenger side for clearance.
