That does sound better, and I like the self learning abilities. I have fenderwells headers, would that effect the o2 sensor? Or is it fine reading only 1 bank?

I got it on sale for 415.00 and free shipping from summit. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-0-8007 its more now. Making the brackets for accelerator linkage now. I would not have done this if i didn't get a screaming deal on the intake, but I'm so very happy i did. I would have tried the EFI, but its easily 1000 bucks outside my price range and honestly I'm just driving around town. The great thing about this carb is that there are lots of info and support for it. Doesn't hurt that it ran ok right out of the box. Straight out of the box!

I haven't run it yet on the road with this carb. it just runs way better in the driveway than the old 2 gc setup ever did. I also have a functional choke and functional properly working port for timing advance. Its really that i replaced a bunch of busted junk and that does wonders. My amazing running engine may be your so so coming from that perspective. I have no clue what jets are in it or what power valve, whatever it came with. If you look up the specs you might find what you're looking for. this is also on an engine with brand new rings, cam, lifters and bearings. it could use set of valves as i have one exhaust with a small knick in it. I did lap all of them and got most of that imperfection out. I also got a new/rebuilt HEI distributor from rock auto. its all new except the valves and springs.

Got to drive it today, but not without a lesson. Made a bracket and used a universal type cable for throttle linkage to make the go pedal work. Just a PITA. I used some stainless i had because I'm lazy and didn't want to paint it. So that lazy made me eat some chinese end mill up. Stainless is only about 12 gauge. Had to go to a japanese one that actually worked to cut a square hole and slot the bracket to use the intake manifold bolts to hold it. Bent it to fit and it looks good, but really its kind of crude. Pics tomorrow.

When i installed the cable it seems i did not allow sufficient slack to the throttle and it pulled the butterflies back slightly. It would not start. turns over just fine, but no way it was going to start. not even catching, nothing. like it had no spark at all. Checked that.

So when I found the linkage holding the throttle open slightly I let it down and it fired right the heck up. In my process i reset the idle to 2 1/2 turns out and I turned them about 2 turns in. That seems too far, but it won't run if i turn it in more and idle is too high with them out. The idle screw is out all the way.

I took it out and drove it around the block. It ran fine before, it ran great when I fixed my timing, now its going to KILL ME! Burnouts at will. Stops on a dime. The sound it makes when i let off the gas is soo damn fun. I have constructed the jeep i always dreamed of for the past 25 years. So Killer!

semi crude stainless bracket. The stainless came from a defunct ice maker, cut with an angle grinder and bent on a 30 dollar harbor freight brake. Killed a chinese end mill slotting the stainless to go under the intake bolts.
