Brake Drum Issue

    Examine this picture the picture from PeteL very carefully. You will see that the springs are not attached to the holes in the shoes, but rather they are attached to the small tabs ont the inner face of the shoes, near the brake lining. The way you have the springs located currently, the spring coil is over the rod from the wheel cylinder to thshoe, which would prevent the drum from fully seating on the hub. When doing brake work, I have gotten in the habit of taking a picture before disassembly so I can get parts back where they go. I'm guessing that the springs you have are correct, they are just installed wrong.

    They look way too long to me...get the right springs & mount everything up like Pete says & you're probably good to go.

    They gave you a brake kit for a Wagoner, I am almost certain of it.
