looking at your rig you don't know how close I came to having my grill chromed, but I'm in so deep I need to get it back on the road and take a deep breath:)
Mounted the original lights w/ a eye toward changing in the near future to your plan

Nice ride. My 66 is about to go back together starting next week. I did not read all the posts, just wondering if yours is lifted and what size tires and wheels? I will start my rebuild thread tonight or tomorrow.

still working on wiring. Had to raise the radiator a bit, do some plumbing for the oil sender, and line up the PS pump a bit as well. Back wiring is done, front wiring about half way. I also picked up some flush mount LED SS tail lights today, still looking for flush mount SS backup lights. Hope to be close to wrapping up wiring tomorrow....getting close:)

pretty close on the wiring project. Got a few things to finish ( need backup lights switch and duel tank switch) but the majority is finished. The project seemed daunting at first but really wasn't that bad.
Boyink I'm attaching a pic that shows how I wired 90% of the dash:), can't imagine laying on my back w/ my head stuffed up under there....you've got my admiration;)
I need to bleed the brakes (bleeder for line lock under the dash) then I can mount dash and steering wheel. I need to add oils/fluids to everything, check over the whole rig. I have a few days off next week so if I didn't mess something up to much:rofl:.......,,,,this rig should be on the road by next week

on the rear tail lamps, I went with the rubber grommet mounted type
didn't care for the screw holes in the flange

can't wait to see this Jeep back on the road, your time and effort will be worth it.

    Yea - I'm jealous!

I really had no alternative with not being able to remove the rollcage.

It wasn't too bad actually - since the Jeep sits on the left side of the garage I could sort of lay in the doorway sideways with my feet on the wall (or out the window that's right there...;))

The only really hard ones were when I had to solder connections under the dash.

Ok one of the "loose ends" that needed to be dealt w/ was the brake switch. The only Tee I could find that fit the rear port on the MC was brake fittings out and down. The only problem w/ that is the brake switch is 1/8" NPT. So after some consideration I decided to try something I've never done before. I carefully drilled out the seat where the switch needed to go, then tapped it out w/ a 1/8" NPT:)
3 pics....first w/ seat, second drilled out, third w/ switch installed
    WooHoo!!!! I'm so proudR)
