And this afternoon, put a 7 blade solid fan on the CJ. It tends to run hot on hill climbs so we'll see if this helps.

That's not correct. Gotta have the yokes match end for end on each section. It seems silly but it does make a difference.

Drove the CJ a couple hundred miles today.
    60% blacktop @ 55-60.
    20% 2wd dirt road.
    15% 4wd high
    5% 4wd low

All working properly until 20 miles from home the transmission was being noisy under load and bumpy when decelerating. Maybe just low on oil. Fingers crossed.

It’s been awhile since I did drum brakes. This ought to be fun. I’m glad I checked, one of the pads is 1/2 gone. Used a wire wheel and painted the drums also. Looks like I’ll be doing the rear tomorrow.

So I guess when I purchased my replacement panels, there should have been a fine print statement that reads " panels only approximate the visual of a CJ5, not intended to actually fit"

And if you fit the front, ......

the wheel well and back get worse

I guess it's cut and hack time, ..........:censored:

So the oil is full but I’m not sure about the condition. Is this water? Or just air mixed into oil? I changed the oil only a couple months ago. (After sinking the jeep)

Looks like water and recently ran. Drain it into a clear container and see what settles.

It was very wet last time. I drained it but maybe a bit of moisture was left. I haven't been thru anything deep enough since to get additional water in there. It was a bit of work to get all the transmission covers off to get a look in here but this time I know it will be dry. Gear oil isn't cheap BTW.

should be able to pull the slip yoke apart and re-assemble with the ends matching....I would do that even for a trail spare.
