brought some f134 tune up stuff from work. one guy I work with has a dirt track car and the other has an off road racing truck. they suggested to put NOS and turbo or blower on the f134 and race it :study:

Started designing a 3 stick shifter boot... learned a good way to NOT make them... about 5 more attempts and we should be good. 74481665_459965784623733_819877229235273728_n.jpg

Blower maybe, NOS no, turbo... not without a good rebuild and some valve guide seals.

I’m years from having a jeep that’ll move on its own so this’ll never happen. I like the thought of boost but a strong NA engine is more impressive to me.

    My aftermarket fender saga continues.
If you recall, I purchased two new front fenders from Quadratec. When they arrived not only was the build quality very poor but they were damaged. I sent those back and had Qudratech send out two new replacements. The replacements arrived yesterday and they were just as damaged as the first pair. One of the replacements was usable but would still require some metal work and bondo whereas the other was a mess, completely unusable. I’ve sent the replacements back and ordered two new fenders from Discount Body Parts. They have a different manufacturers part number than the Crown and Omix fenders so we’ll find out soon if they are indeed different or the same poor quality parts.
I also located a pair of original fenders at a Jeep salvage yard in Ohio. The seller told me they are rusty but not rotted. they want $500.00 per fender and $150.00 shipping.

    Second set:

Garbage, that sucks. If you have to do a bunch of work, may as well refurbish some originals. Not at $500 apiece though.

Dphillip, Have you checked out this site ? : Willys Jeep Parts | Kaiser Willys Jeep Parts and Restoration
I was turned onto them a while ago & their parts, ordering & shipping were top notch.
I also found this for you , if interested. They state that these are OEM .
upload_2019-11-12_20-36-42.png I Realize that they are more expensive, but IMHO, the Crowne stuff is pretty chintzy remakes . :( Also, Walcks has the same part #'s , for 4 bucks less each.

Thank you Richie for the link. I am familiar with that company but was under the impression they source their body parts from MD Juan in Taiwan. I’m concerned that all reproduction CJ fenders regardless where you purchase them from are made by MD Juan. I now have a set coming from Discount Body Parts so I’ll see what their offerings look like. If they are the same poor quality I’ll definitely give Kaiser Willy’s a call.
The body shop is making nice progress with my CJ so I really need those fenders.

Have you called Collins brothers in Dallas? They are longtime AMC-jeep dealers that carry lots of CJ parts. They might have something to help you.

I did check Collins and their online inventory shows no used fenders. I did find two in Ohio that the seller said are rusty but not rotten. He wants 500 per fender, not paying a 1000 dollars for two rusty fenders.

Body folks know their trade, don't they ? Your Jeep is look'n good, man. I feel like you have the younger sister to my " Rosie " , just a bit longer is all .:) Mostly 'cuz were the only ones I know with the 700R4 3 speed auto w/ Overdrive .

P.S. Kaiser states that theirs are OEM ? , Not Juans ?????

    Thanks again Richie!
I found something curious with the Kaiser Willy’s part numbers. Their part numbers for 76 thru 86 fenders are the same part numbers for Walck’s 72 thru 75 fenders. Somethings not right there?

    Ouch.
More than I've ever paid for a whole jeep. You might want to consider buying a parts vehicle.

where the shock mounts is different. I think all of them are cut out for a 76 and up and those with intermediates have to cut out where the shock mount is.

I went and had 5 new tires put on the Jeepster. It had Duratrac 265/75/16 that were 8 years old with dry rot and some chunks missing from the lugs on the tread. I bought Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx. Size is 255/85/16 so a little taller and just slightly narrower. It seems to ride and handle a little better. Getting ready for a trip to Big Bend Ranch State Park next week!
