I finally got the $ to get the heads done for my 302 build, this is the engine going in my son's Willys
Grandparents got him the intake for Christmas, and his mom sprung for the chrome valve covers.

Very nice. That should power that Willy’s really well.

It's a bone stock 86 302, but everything has been refurbished or replaced. Should be plenty of oomph for a Willys pickup.

EAAFF771-7DAE-4CB7-9418-FE801F9B2E51.jpeg I put insurance on it and registered it in my name finally.

I got the old harness out And I got some of the new wiring harness installed. The dash is mostly wired. Just need to wire up the lights and turn signal/headlight switches. Adding 2 relays for the headlights.

Finally got to do some assembly. Bought it last December and worked on it all winter and still more to do. Now everything is ready to finish. Hope to have the windshield done soon. It just needs final paint. Already repaired and primed. Was planning on black but another member says paint it body color. Dash is body color with black. I'll add a final pic in a week or so. Ok, Scrutiny time! Thoughts? CAM00449-1.jpg CAM00450.jpg

Top is black? I think a black frame would be fine.

Looks fantastic sir! What year is it? It is my understanding earlier Willys CJ5 windshields were body color but Kaiser CJ5 windshields were all black. You paint it whatever you prefer (y)

Love it...black window frame is my choice with black top. Some other color top might prefer body color.

    Om
, I'VE heard enough. Black is my plan. Couldn't imagine any other color. But it's true, newer Jeeps do match body color. Thanks. Btw - it is a 70 with dauntless and 4.88. Already have OD. Will install it after body and all else is finished. The color is supposed to be the autumn wheat. It was used in 58 waggys and panels. Doesn't look dark enough - actual vs picture? Anyway, I wanted a buckskin color. Looks like I'll have to be a hotdog in a mustard Jeep.

That is one sharp looking jeep. With a dauntless, 4.88's and OD, it ought to be as good as it looks.(y)

It’s because of the white wheels :p

Thanks everyone. Should have painted it orange. It already has the peel. That one that sold on eBay for roughly $6000 is like mine except mine runs (I think -I'VE only driven it around the block to hear the gears.). Rebuild for a dauntless is around $2500. I bought it for. $1250 and have about half as much in it as the eBay one. And, that one will need $$$ spent on it too. So I think I did ok. Especially with the white wheels.

I'm partial to the contrast of the black windshield frame.
