I like this idea, kinda like the storage boxes on an MB but with side access instead of top. It uses an area that is otherwise dead space and we all know that storage space is at a premium on a CJ5.

Yes but the roll bar is in the way and i think its better to have the door on the side for access. I even made the bottom out of stainless from an old barbecue to keep the rust at bay. I didnt want to cut a hole in the tub since its one of the only spots without bondo or patches but I knew it would be worth it.

Checked battery and Alternator. Battery now reading 12.6 before starting. After starting Alternator reads 13.67. Woo hoo!!!

Took about 20 minutes to tackle my .75 mile commute this afternoon. Well over 12” of fresh snow in town and still falling!

Cleaning up small bits since engine is at the machine shop. Ordered a few parts. Carb gasket and insulator, PCV grommet, oil filter housing nipple so I can run modern filters with internal bypass (blocking the filter housing bypass), oil pump gears, stainless pump midplate. Yesterday I lapped the pump gear scoring out of the filter housing. 304 V8.

This "power down" feature on the plow is coming in handy. It makes changing the front tires a breeze. I put a block of wood between the axle and plow frame and it lifts it right up.

Our road is mud, but I needed to push snow banks back past the gutters to prevent gullies in the road as it melts. I needed the big tires for that.

Plugged the filter bypass in my 304 filter housing. Threaded the hole, notched the plug so the washer prevents it from backing out. 1552777044989-2134915666.jpg

The coolant ran all over the garage floor. It's just the water neck. You'd of heard a muffled gunshot if it was the timing cover. Tackle that in the am....

I have two t-stat housing, both are well warped. Probably caused by over-torquing the mounting bolts. Maybe lap the mounting surface before trying again.

Both are also well-corroded where stagnant water gets between the hose and the neck in front of the hose clamp. I guess I'll dig out the cavities and fill the pits with JB Weld.
