Yes that is CAT yellow. Looks nice.
Tomorrow the wiring harness will be installed. Can’t wait. Ready to take it for a spin again.
I got in a fight in that parking lot once....got my *** kicked and needed 4 stitches in my scalp
There may have been beer involved....
I installed the passenger seat frame today in my '68.
The tricky part was the seat bracket (the part on the right) was originally missing. ITLKSEZ suggested a new one could be made out of hardware store 1/2" black gas pipe. He said he could make the bends with his pipe bender. I made the two tabs that allows the seat frame to pivot up and be removed.
I borrowed a seat bracket from another jeep so ITLKSEZ could use it has a template. He did more than make than make the bends in the pipe. He welded on the tabs and fashioned and welded on the feet. (Original, top, ITLSEZ's clone, bottom)
I drilled mounting holes in the bracket, painted, and installed it. Here's a closeup of ITLKSEZ's craftsmanship.
Nice job on the seat bracket
and again he shows his nice work hope you got to look at projects while you were there
In all seriousness, ITLKSEZ should start making these. You can’t find ECJ5 seat brackets anywhere and no one is reproducing them. Fantastic job!
X2, nice craftsmanship!
Yes, I got to see all the amazing stuff he's been building. One of the highlights was getting a ride in his plow jeep. I had no idea a jeep could go the places he took me.
Given the quality of the OEM welds for the pivot tabs on mine, you probably ended up with a better than new bracket...nicely done to both of you.
I agree. Had a really hard time finding mine.
Nice Fabrication , ITLKSEZ..... your a Jack, my friend ! BTW, Focker is this hijacking. I can't post a new thread today ?
Any hoooo, This is what I did to my 1975 CJ5 today. ( Possible Quiz at the end ? )
OK.. WTH Quiz : Is there a difference in the font Pre 1975 ? What is that difference :
2) AMC eliminated the Bar over the 'J ' & changed the font slightly for 1975
3) I discovered that I bought my '75 with a '74 Tailgate ! ( Ask me how I Know ? )
I finally got the $ to get the heads done for my 302 build, this is the engine going in my son's Willys
Grandparents got him the intake for Christmas, and his mom sprung for the chrome valve covers.
Very nice. That should power that Willy’s really well.
It's a bone stock 86 302, but everything has been refurbished or replaced. Should be plenty of oomph for a Willys pickup.
I put insurance on it and registered it in my name finally.
I got the old harness out And I got some of the new wiring harness installed. The dash is mostly wired. Just need to wire up the lights and turn signal/headlight switches. Adding 2 relays for the headlights.
Finally got to do some assembly. Bought it last December and worked on it all winter and still more to do. Now everything is ready to finish. Hope to have the windshield done soon. It just needs final paint. Already repaired and primed. Was planning on black but another member says paint it body color. Dash is body color with black. I'll add a final pic in a week or so. Ok, Scrutiny time! Thoughts?
Top is black? I think a black frame would be fine.
