Ya it makes sense now. When you said dry system, I was thinking of some weird new brake set up...not an actual dry brake system. May sound dumb, but I could not bleed the brakes on my '72. Come to find out I had a pin hole in my front driver brake line which was not pushing fluid out, but enough to suck some air as I let off the pedal.

yea, i figured i may have had a loose connection but i blew are into the front and rear lines with my mouth and they both retained pressure and when the bleeders were open they didnt, so they were functioning properly. I have brand new metal, and rubber lines from the master cyl to the wheels so idk

You know, for a beater she turned out pretty good. It looks a whole lot better that's for sure. If you have most of the mechanical issues sorted out now she ought to be fun. Now go out and wheel that baby. Have fun.

actually yes i did a little bit haha but nothin a little engine-new-itie cant fix lol, i had to take the stock steering wheel off and beet the crap outta it to break away the old rubber crap to get to the actuall metal frame that connected to the center hub piece, once that was done i cut the three bars to let me take the hub out then i just welded it to the new steering wheel making sure it was centered and tryed to not burn the paint. The factory steering box is plenty gear reducted to handle the smaller wheel

You saved this rig from the crusher, and made a respectable trail rig out of it. Congratulations! Nice work! Get these last few problems ironed out... looking forward to some trail pics!

well the raditator sprung a leak in the middle right after i got done welding in a grill piece they fixed it free of charge. Then i got it back home and proceded to put another hole in it by the water pump bolt ugh! So paul fixed that. To take care of my front diff problem plug i welded a huge nut to the old plug and out she came. I got the jeep running about an hour ago 2am, runs great but my thow out bearing isnt releasing far enough to make it stop turning so i am scared that its guna burn it up!!! give me advice plzzzz. should i even worry about it, im guessing yes. Well i got to drive it for a while and it does badass in mud/flex so i am happy. we will be leeving for colorado around noon tommaro if everything goes as planned which i doubt will.

Well we are on day two here in Colorado, we are staying at the KOA in Ouray. The Jeep has done good on the trails going up yankee boy basin the first day but we turned around because it started snowing. We hit the trails today and went up Imogine pass, we took our 02' wrangler which is my parents jeep on 31 a/ts and is has some other small stuff like a 8k warn, 2inch superlift, badass bumpers ect. We also took my jeep and our 450 Yamaha Kodiak. My jeep made it about 1/4mile from the top where i came across one of the harder parts of the trail where my father previously flipped a four wheeler 3 years ago. My jeep wasnt running the greatest being because it is jetted to high for the altitude and i couldnt make it up the rocks so i backed down the trail and decided to go off to the side and didnt know what was on the other side of the hill. I made it over the hill and hit a large hole which killed my jeep after the front made if over. I was so **c*ing ****ed, it was prolly 20degrees, i cant feel my hands and now my clutch wont disenguage. I had to get pulled out by my father far enough to re-bleed the clutch and then i was able to make it down the mountain. We have had a few problems but have resolved most of them. We had one of the electric fans fall pull down and rip some fins outta the radiator, then my pcv valve rubber is fd, we put radiator stop leek in, and now bought a valve cover gasket so that we can pull the valve cover tommaro and see whats clacking in there. The oil fill plug also fell out on the first trail so we stuffed it with paper towels. I know pics pics pics i am workin on it. The site is different lookin

anyways the jeep has made it to 12k above sea level

Does anyone elses rear axle not look centered inside the fender? mine looks like it is an inch too far forward. I got under the jeep yesturday to find all the 4 crossmember bolts loose, the trans fill plug loose and one of the starter bolts backed out :D glad i found that

Your axle looks like its set about right in the rear. It is pulled forward a little bit but thats just because of flexing. If it was compressed, then the axle on the compressed side would look like it was back too far.

well the left rear axle centering pin sheered off today about 5 miles up the trail sending the tire into the fender and i had to drive it down the trial like that. We now have it at the camp ground with the rear axle out besides the driveshaft and break lines so that we can rebuild the suspention components. We also recieved a 275 dollar fine today for riding our 4 wheeler in some loose gravel that a dozer had pushed off the side of the road, we were "messing with the environment" i guess that driving over some rocks that had no life in it is messing with the trees. idk its bs so just watch yourself if you ever come up here cuz the cops are very very picky.

Sucks about the ticket. Cops here in California are about the same way. Also sucks about your center pin. Did it do any damage when it smoked the fender?
