Nice seats Dan, what model are they? Did you have to do the wheelhouse notch to get them to fit?

I been thinking about getting rid of my TJ seats and going to a seat like that.

It is great to have the seats in but it isnt driving anytime soon. I swapped out a sidekick slip yoke to replace the samurai one so i could keep oil in the transmission. Turns out the sidekick yoke is 1/2 longer than the Samurai. and i could not bolt the transfercase back in its mount. I made a trip to the bearing shop to see if they had anything in their books for a seal that would fit with the samurai yoke, but there is nothing available. So i sent out the intermediate shaft out and cross my fingers that they can remove 3/4 inch of length out of the shaft. They made this shaft and it had about an 1 1/2 of tube between yokes.

Well the guys at the driveshaft shop did a bang up job on shortening the intermediate shaft for me. It bolted right in and I finally have a clean floor in the garage. The suspension seats are really comfortable :) One of the last issues i am dealing with now is the transmission seems to want to keep the shifter in gear and will fight me when i try to shift gears. Since everything is a hybrid i am using the intermediate jeep pedals with a factory Suzuki sidekick clutch cable.

Originally i mounted the cable directly to the firewall.

I got to looking at it and see what i am getting for throw. With this setup i got just under an inch of throw. After doing some searching and talking to some good folks, and i needed to try and get some more throw. Also looking at the current setup i saw the cable was eating into the metal flange, fortunately the cable was not frayed. On the intermediate pedals i did not use the original connection hole because it was too extreme of an angle for the cable an i redrilled it a bit in. So now I am going back to using the original hole on the end, it should give me some more throw. For me to use the end hole i needed to get my cable to enter the jeep vertically. So i ended up cutting out part of the firewall plate and making a bracket that fit the hole and was angled in so when the cable was bolted in, it aligned upright to work out great with the new mount.

After getting it connected and did some measureing i found i got between 1/4 to a 1/2 inch more throw. tomorrow i do the test to see if it did the trick. :)

I'd look into a junkyard hydro setup.

Did the hydro before, just not a fan of it. This is actually simpler. heck i just had to replace the mc for the clutch in my 4Runner tonight. Only lasted 3 months. :(

Did something happen to the pictures? It's hard to see what you did if the pics are gone...

I read that you did the XJ spring swap. I would love to see some pics of how you did it and mostly your shock mounts, if its not too much trouble. I like your M38a1 a lot. Mine is in the shop getting a rebuild...
    Thank you!

I will post some tonight. The rear shocks botled to the factory location, and for the front i made the higher mounts that go into the fender wells for the front shocks. The mount on the axle is on top of the tube between the knuckle and spring perch. And for the springs mounts i just made some and moved them inward on the frame to fit the longer XJ springs. but i will pop up some pics later.

Looks good. What metal thickness did you use for your gas tank?

No problem. fortunately it is pretty much done for now. the only other thing i really want is low gear set for the transfercase but that can wait.
