Ok I got the pad clearance prob solved by tossing a .037 shim behind the inner race, problem solved, great.. reassemble hubs etc.. oh crap.. snap ring at the end of the axle will not go on, the recess is for the snapring is not sticking out far enough.. didn't see this coming.. after some creative measuring they are off nearly exactly the .037 I put in as expected.. so now what? I can easily fix it with a little lathe time but I am wondering if anyone else has run into this and what they did to resolve it.. they are warn style lockouts..

I've never used the snap rings Scott. My Jeep originally had the early Rzeppa joints in the front end, and I replace them with Spicer-type axles that I got from another ECJ5 member. I don't think that they're that critical.

What did you end up using to make the shims?

Neither one off mine with the spicer style joints had a snap ring on them when I disassembled to repack bearings and such.
