help with vin

When I picked up my 55 cj5 I got a title to it of ourse. now that guy said it was a 55 cj5 and it clearly maybe as it is the f-head motor and thw wipers on the top etc. but the title says its a 69 which of corse cannot be true. unles ther was some major swaping. the problem is the orginal serial number plate was taken off and lost whioch is no big deal casue I have a title for it. anyway on the title it says the vin is 651aa110520. this does not match anythong I can find on any jeep. nto a 69 or a 55. unless this thing got a new vin adn title along the way I don't know. Any help would be appreciated

 

Maybe it is a 55, but sounds like the PO didn’t have a title for it then went out and found one from another vehicle. Did you ask the PO about this?

 

Ask around here some more but I was thinking that the serial number was also stamped into the frames on the older Jeeps (especially the 55).

the vin looks like a newly assigned one. it does not match the normal format for a 69 and adjacent years.
