I know this has been discussed many times but I'm trying to confirm for myself that I have the right parts and if not what parts I need. I have a 1984 231 V6, a 225 flywheel & bell housing, a SM465 adapted to a D30. I know I need to balance the flywheel for the 231. My question is can I use the 225 bell housing and if so which clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing do I use?

Moved to tech for better exposure. If you can find a 231 flywheel you'll be better off. See other posts about clutch issues. Bellhousing will work fine. Will need to machine the front bearing retainer and bellhousing to bolt the transmission to the engine. I'm guessing you have the SM-465 adapted to a 20 transfer case. No such thing as a 30 transfercase. Might also see other threads about the clutch issues for clutch applications and problems associated with them. Most of the problems stem from the thicker 225 flywheel....
