question on t14 transmission + d18 transfer case + overdrive

Just checking to see if this is normal.... I rebuilt the t14 transmission and d18 transfer case a few months ago. Now everytime I check the fluid level in the transmission, it is always low. I fill it and after a month or two, it is low again.... anybody seen this before? Any ideas on why this may be happening?

Check the transfer case. If overfull that's where it's going. The overdrive gets its lube from the transfer case. Usually need to fill the transfer case, drive it, top off transfer case, drive, re-check. If this wasn't done then the oil could be going to fill the overdrive.

Constant leaking. How often do you check the fluid?

 

What Nickmil said. I usually have to top of the tranny for a couple of weeks after a change.

 

mine does it too! I dont know why but im pretty sure my t-case is completly full by now since my tranny level seems stable recently lol

 

I quit checking my TC a long time ago. It was always overfull. That's good though, keeps the overdrive well lubed.
