CJ3B/ CJ5 tub differances

Are there any differances between a CJ3b tub and a CJ5? Would the same 6 point roll bar fit both tubs?

 

Yes, they are quite different. 6 point? You mean a cage? No, the same cage will not fit.

 

VERY VERY DIFFERENT!!! i own both and its like comparing an mb to a cj-6, complete opposites, i doubt it would fit without major modification.

 

The rear half is the same. The only thing different is that the front hoop for a 5 is about 3 1/2 inches wider then one for a flatty. Not really swappable at all without a welder.

As long as we are on the subject.....will a CJ-3b rear bench seat with the legs fit in an early CJ-5? Repro CJ-3b seat frames are available (expensive!) but I cannot find any early CJ-5 seats or frames...

 

Probably. But I believe they are uncomfortable.

Supposedly a YJ seat will fit (but not a TJ seat). And the YJ seat folds and tumbles.

 

The CJ-3B and CJ-5 rear seats mount differently and would require some modifications to swap them.
