I have searched and haven't found the answer so I'm gonna ask. Do the back sides of the factory hubs have to be machined completely flat or just trued(sp) up? Finally making progress on this jeep and don't want to screw up and have to buy new hubs. Doing the Chevy version of this swap fyi. Thanks in advance.

Simply truing the back side of the hub is all you need, the hub just needs to have a flat surface to sit square on the rotor face.

Before you chuck it in the lathe it is also a good idea to check the runout on both faces of the hub to make sure that it isn't bent. Its pretty easy to bend one of these hubs out of true when you are separating them from the original drums.

Thank you, that's what I needed to know. I will check it to make sure it isn't warped.

It's a 74; the drums aren't swaged to the hub; they should just pull off.

I did a search and read lots of the threads. Don't have the links or I would post them.

When I read that I was thinking "dang these things must be fragile to be so thick" but then again I'm not a mechanic either. Haha
