So the PO installed the clutch assembly with two pressure plate bolts broken off in the flywheel. I was able remove one, the other no luck. Aside from buying a new flywheel....are there other options to save it? One option that came to mind(the shade tree mechanic option) is drilling through all 6 bolt holes on the flywheel and using the ole bolt and nut method. Any and all opinions and advice is welcome.
    Thanks,
    rick

I would send the flywheel to a machine shop and have them drill and re-tap the threads.

:iagree: Also could try to drill out yourself. Just be sure to start drilling in the very center of bolt and keep it strait. Start small and work your way up. Keep shooting it with some kind of penetrating oil. Alot of times the bolt gets thin enough it just spins out.

left handed drill bits, start small and work you rway up, with a little pb blaster they will eventually bind and back right out.

If you have a friend that is a welder, it is very easy to place a hex nut over the broken off bolt and weld it to it. Comes right out like a champ.

Thanks guys.....I was using everything I had....by the looks of the things I'm finding....I'd say it was cross threaded to start with. I have found a proper replacement....but you never know about what can be done until you ask around. This is a great forum for that. Thanks all.

+1. Left handed drills are hard to find but they work wonders in getting out broken bolts.
