Anyone use a 12V hydrolic pump to opperate thier snow plow? (or other hydrolics)
I'm having a heck of a time getting Wimpy to run and doubt he will be able to plow snow any at all this year. Thinking about putting the plow mount on Achilles, but I won't be able to use the Hi-Lo pump I have for the :hurrican: . Just won't fit on the :v6: . I like the idea of one of the units that harbor frieght has on page 216 of thier catalogue.(fall/winter 2003) At this point I'm ready to spend the money on it just so I can clear my driveway.
Any thoughts on hookup on these?
One hydrolic line to the cylinder?
Valves? no valving, manual 3-position valve, solinoid with remote cord set??

They look like they would be self contained, in that the "overflow" resevoir is built in. Am I correct?

    Thanks

dad's truck has an electric setup. only fault is that near end of night plowing blade goes up slow, and lights are dim. other than that no issues. pump/motor is one piece, uses solinoids to divert flow to blade.

make a bracket to fit the pump on achilles.

Might check the for sale archives, someone had 3 Meyer T-5 pumps listed FS.

These are power up, gravity down, no power angle. It's what I used on my scrap plow, and works fine since I have no need to angle the plow.

I just used a Ford starter relay on the switch.

Yea, I saw the add a couple days ago. Really tired of tinkering so I'm ready for new.

Just one question I had here.
The hydrolic cylinder is seperate from the unit, right? So all I have to do is run a line from the new electric pump to my old lift cylinder that I allready have installed on the plow lift?

oops. Actually it was in northerntool.com. No wonder I couldn't find it on harbor frieghts site.

Anyways, this is what I was talking about.

    12V hydrolic pump

I'll probably need some sort of 3 way valve to let the fluid go to the cylinder, then a "float position so nothing goes either way, and then another position to either drop it or gravity bleed the fluid back into the tank.

    Right?
